What is late August like?

Hi there. I haven't posted here since 2005... our first trip to DL!!! This board was a great help for newbies! We went to DW in March and had a blast too but are now looking toward our next adventure back to DL. We don't want to take the kids out of school as they are getting older so are looking at possibly going right before school starts again (always the first Tues in September) which would be the last week of August (2008... yes I am a planaholic). I know it will be hot as we were there in September and baked but handled it okay. Are the crowds still insane at that time of year? I miss Disney and it wil be tough waiting that long. Our only other possible time would be Easter break and it sounds pretty packed at that time. Thanks!

Many CA schools go back mid-August so the crowds go down significantly. It is really hot, though. But, you still have the full summer hours and entertainment schedule.

We went this past August for our honeymoon - the 28th through September 5th. It was great, really. The heat was bearable and the crowds were moderate but we didn't wait more than 20 minutes for anything. We thought it was a great time to be there.
