Also on the
Disney Cruise Line they have a "Kid's Club" One for the very young to toddlers (The Oceanears Club) and one for older elementary (The Oceanears Lab). They also have teen-only areas of the ship with adult "counselors" to supervise. The people they have working in them are mostly from overseas which gives the children and opportunity to work with diverse people (sometimes for the first time in their lives) and they are certified, most having studied early childhood psych and the like.
We had trouble getting our son out of there many times. They do such fanastic activities!!
Surprisingly to my wife and me, most of the employees who dealt the people on the cruise ships (wait staff, bartenders, receptionists, etc.) were highly educated and had family. They could earn more money as a waiter on the ship than as a Civil Engineer in Croatia (which is what our waiter majored in).
