What is Kids Club?

Is this a free service, or is it part of the paid babysitting service? Also, what does it entail? Are parents required to stay? Is there an age limit? Is it every day or just during busy season?

The kids clubs at the resorts such as The Sandcastle club at BC/BCV's or The Cubs Den at WL/VWL are for kids ages 4-12 yrs. You have to pay for this service...It includes dinner and they have movies and games and such. You need to reserve like 24hrs in advance I believe and you can drop off and pick up your kids any time between 4:30pm and midnight (I think are the hours).

So no, parents are not required to stay. It is a babysitting type service only in a group setting instead of the services where you have an actual sitter come to your room. The clubs are available year round but not sure what it costs. You do not need to be staying at the resort at which kids club you use though. i.e. you can stay at say OKW and use the Sandcastle club at BC.

Also on the Disney Cruise Line they have a "Kid's Club" One for the very young to toddlers (The Oceanears Club) and one for older elementary (The Oceanears Lab). They also have teen-only areas of the ship with adult "counselors" to supervise. The people they have working in them are mostly from overseas which gives the children and opportunity to work with diverse people (sometimes for the first time in their lives) and they are certified, most having studied early childhood psych and the like.
We had trouble getting our son out of there many times. They do such fanastic activities!!

Surprisingly to my wife and me, most of the employees who dealt the people on the cruise ships (wait staff, bartenders, receptionists, etc.) were highly educated and had family. They could earn more money as a waiter on the ship than as a Civil Engineer in Croatia (which is what our waiter majored in).
