What is it with BCV.

Are they just understaffed. My Third resort on this trip. And here they tell me it will be at least 5 before I get a room. I never get a unit here before 4. Sigh

Of course this did just give me the chance to listen to a woman have a fit at the pool entrance because. "There are kids at this pool " LOL

Actually they got me in a little earlier then promised 4:40.

I think the delay was carpet cleaning (or a flood $ the carpet is soaking wet

BWV is where I most often get a villa after 4.

I got my BCV studio on Columbus day at 12:06. That was after checking in at approx 11:30 and being switched from a ground floor studio to a higher floor.


It's all just luck.

We checked into BCV twice last week. The first time, room ready at 10:15am. The second, room ready a little before noon. Personally, I think BCV is good with early check-in. AKV much worse.

We always just try and arrive after 2:30p - I find that's the best time for the rms to be ready. Online check-in use to seem to work but now I'm getting a bad vibe from the online experience.

It's been 3 yrs I think but we had 5 units at BCV and 4 at BWV. We had all units but 3:20 or so IIRC.

Luck with DVC seems to be distributed unevenly. We have always gotten into rooms before four (only one BCV stay, usually BWV), but almost never get our room request. You hear of people who never get what they want at seven months, and other people who have never had a problem at five. Some can't walk into a clean room, others don't know why people complain about housekeeping. It makes no statistical sense (I suspect its perceptions - maybe we got into a room late but don't remember it because they texted us and held our luggage and since we were in the parks we lost track of time and have no memory of what time our room became available - had we had plans to nap in the room and been camped out in the lobby, we would have known EXACTLY).

I generally get into every other resort pretty quick. Never happens for me at BCV. My all time record was almost 7 pm.

I love it once I am here but check in is a pain

Oh and if you are swapping resorts under magic band you have to be checked out of the last place. I had no problems but met one man who was rather upset. Apparently he came to BCV early to get a new unit and when he went back to AKV he was locked out. When they put him back in AKV they cancelled his check in at BCV so he never got his text message about his villa being ready

As a professional resort hopper doing split stays (Joking here) I can tell you that was the also happening before Magic Bands. I am quite good at booking a vacation then adding a day somewhere else before and sometimes after the main stay. And with a one night stay I always add a dining plan.

So then you try to get your next room early...room key won't work and dining plan disappears. This has happened more then once. I've got a simple fix for it if you are travelling with someone....make them the primary on the first night.

We are here. Arrived on the 22nd. Our room was ready at 1:30 - not bad.

That's why I looked back at the text to see what time it came thru! Otherwise I was going to over estimate the time it was available.

We have had this same experience at both resorts.

We stayed at BCV over Memorial Day. Checked in at 11:00 am and the room was ready and clean. I wasn't expecting that after what I had read!
