What is it with all these scams?

My son was scammed around 6:30 tonight by a guest. The funny thing is, the guest tried to do it again a couple hours later. This guest is going into trade rooms, saying he is trading for credits. Once he gets his credits, he is gone. I'll be happy to pm anyone who wants his guest number. My son did a report, but at the time didnt' remember all of his guest number. Since it almost happened a 2nd time, he was now able to get the whole number, and can now do a full report. He has screen shots as well.

Aww, Tink. I could have helped. I think he'll know better now not to trust
anyone with a "guest" title with that kind of risky trade without a CL present.

Chances are, if he had suggested a trusted leader, the "guest" would have
disappeared. Hugs.

There were so many red flags to the trade.

#1 it was a guest

#2 the guest wouldn't do it through a CL

#3 It was too good of a deal to pass up

He's actually handling it pretty well. He knows he made a mistake to "trust" this guest. His guard is now up.

The point is that this guest was in another trade room a couple hours later trying to do the same thing to other people.

So your son traded this player throught a quest kiosk, am I understanding this correctly? If so I have to say that VMK frowns on those type of trades problably as it is harder to monitor than a trade done in a trade window. It is good you have a screen shot that may help... sorry your son lost his credits. Sad that someone would steal credits instead of enjoying the fun of winning them in games and quests. Just out of curiosity, how many credits did he lose and what was he trading for??

He lost 10,000 credits. He realizes how stupid he was. I'm sure he won't make the same mistake twice. He knows he'll never see those credits again. My concern is for all the other people out there. It's obvious this person created the guest to scam people. And he is quite good at it too. Unfortunately a ban to this person probably won't stop him. He'll just create a new IP addy and a new character and keep it up. I'm not sure there's anyway to stop this kind of scamming and it's pretty upsetting.
