Just curious, since we have reserved our room for Nov 28 - Dec 3, what it is like the week after Thanksgiving? I picked this week based on The Unofficial Guide to WDW saying that this week was one of the best as far as there not being large crowds.

Has anyone been during this week? I'm just wondering if lines will be short and crowds will be light where we can get on rides pretty quickly? Or...will it just be not so crowded when compared the extremely busy times?

We love this week!! :thumbsup2

When I was in high school (more years than I care to count :sad2: ) my grandparents used to take us to WDW the week after Thanksgiving every year. I continued the tradition for my honeymoon after getting married Thanksgiving weekend. We are headed there again with my family this year to spend November 26-29.

It's amazing the difference between the busy days of Thanksgiving weekend (Thurs-Sat) to Sunday and the days following. The crowds diminish significantly and the parks are transformed with every Christmas decoration you can imagine!

You will really enjoy it!! Be sure to go to a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party while you are there. http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/mvmcp.htm

I just looked at the information and was wondering if park admission is required or if you just purchase the Christmas party ticket and go in at 4PM? We are probably going to every single park except Magic Kingdom since we unfortunately can't fit that one into our 5 days there. I'm trying to decide whether we should just skip Sea World and do all 4 Disney parks.

Actually the guides are little behind the times. The week after Thanksgiving was "dead" maybe eight years ago. But the word spread about it being a good time to go, and MVMCP and other holiday attractions incl. the programs at Epcot have grown in popularity--all of which has increased the crowds considerably, by comparison. And if I remember right, all the Vacation Club resorts, and many of the Disney resorts, are currently booked full for that time period in 2006. The crowds will be manageable, but it won't be dead by any means.. :smooth:
p.s. I would definately skip Sea World...JMHO

Was dead is accurate. Not so much anymore. Still managable but every year we see it becoming more and more and more busy. We travel during that time every year so to see the increase pains us ;)

As the previous poster said DVC resorts from that period into the first 2 weeks of December are proabably 98% + occupancy. VERY popular time for DVC'ers.

We went last year that same week and it was dead. We never waited in any linesat all, and sometimes got to ride twice in a row without getting off. The key is leaving early in the morning. One day we did all the rides in the majic kingdom by 1:30. We had such a good time we are going again this year.

We went once a few days before Thansgiving it was so quiet. The boat from Swan was so slow a long wait. The day after Thansgiving it was crowed big difference. we think year to year it could be different.
   party: party: party: party:

used to be dead, not any more, we have been the past 4 yrs during this week and we have seen a considerable rise in attendance during this week and MVMCP was insane! we were so dissapointed, the ride wait times were actually longer during the party than they were during the day. With all the special events going on now i dont know if they actually have a dead week any more, ahhhhhh i miss the no waiting in lines :surfweb:
