What is in your park bag?

If you carry a big bag to the park, what it in it? And if you go with a small bag/bagless, what is important to have with you each day? I'm hoping hearing about your park preferences will help me decide!

I'm weighing getting a new park bag vs. *gulp* going bagless. This has me thinking about what I carry each day. Typically, I use a small sized AmeriBag (the Healthy Back Bag), and I carry as little as possible. This bag is great because it goes in about 10 different positions, so I don't get tired of having it in the same spot each day. I normally carry:
  • Debit card/license
  • Sunglasses & glasses
  • Cell Phone
  • Medical supplies
  • Emergency supplies - blister patches, bandaids, Tylenol
  • Sunscreen or ponchos depending on the weather; thinking of getting Frogg Toggs
After we get to the park, I typically add a park map and daily schedule, even though we know our way around. In the past, I also had a lanyard for my room key and fastpasses, but that won't be necessary this trip.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you carry!

For the most part, I go bagless, especially lately since I don't spend as much time in the parks right now. When I would go in the summer or when I was there from rope drop until closing, I would take a small drawstring backpack that had a little travel deoderant and compact so I could freshen up before a table service meal, a bandaid or two just in case I got a blister, and my camera with back up battery. When I took my 4 generation trip, I also took a small notebook to write some stuff down for a trip report.

Now that I am taking midday breaks, arriving late, or leaving early rather than being there all day, I don't really feel the need for most of that stuff. I put my camera in one pocket and my phone in the other. I might take a tube of chapstick as well, but that's it. No need for a bag.

That is an interesting point about breaks. We typically don't take a break unless DD wants to go swimming, and we are often in the park from park open to park close.

I have small kids so I have to a bring a stroller. I keep bottled water, spare clothes, and ponchos in the bottom of the stroller. We'll also have a diaper bag on our next trip because we are back to having a baby. In my small purse, I carry: a small wallet with a few CCs, cash, and my license, cell phone, bandaids, sunglasses/glasses, small tube of sunscreen, a couple small toys, and a few small non-perishable, non-melty snacks like fruit snacks. I try to remember some wet wipes and tissues too.

We'll have some snacks in our bag. We usually eat a light breakfast and this gets the kids through the morning. We also have a camera with us even with phones. Ponchos if it is the normal afternoon shower forecast. Rain coats if the forecast is for heavier rain.

I usually have a Disney fanny pack (20 plus years old) that I keep money, ID, credit card, keys, band aids, safety pins (long story), tissues, and meds. I am local so I sometimes bring a large bag with empty popcorn buckets. I usually leave it in a locker until ready to leave, then buy regular popcorns to fill them. I will also keep sunblock in the bag after using it.

We always take a bag, although it has gotten smaller over the years as our kids have gotten older. Our "must haves" in the bag are sunscreen, sunglasses, tylenol, small thing of wet wipes, small waterproof bag and bandaids. We do still bring a few snacks that won't melt in the heat like bananas or fruit snacks.

In the bag that I will carry, I plan on having cash, credit, and liscense, my DSLR and a few lenses, sunglasses, water bottle, motrin, bandaids, chapstick, iphone.

In the stroller I will have packed into ziplocks sun screen, autograph books, penny books, change of clothes for kids, more water bottles/mugs, and the tote for carrying them.

i typically use a small drawstring backpack (like the ones disney sells in the parks)

in it i usually have...
-phone
-wallet
-chap stick
-translucent powder compact
-tiny body spray
-little travel size brush with extra hair tie
-anti diarrhea meds
-advil
-poncho
-eye glasses case for HS only to ride RNRC
-sunglasses only for epcot since the fire in illuminations hurts my eyes and then its hard to keep them open after that.

and there's still plenty of room in the bag in case i bring/buy a bottle of water and in case i get my dessert to go at a restaurant.

for my upcoming trip in a few weeks i'm going solo and due to my visual impairment i'm brining a couple things that i don't usually bring like a small flashlight, my cane for identifying purposes, and perhaps a tablet which is easier to see the MDE app than on my phone.

i will also be carrying an autograph book at MK and epcot which i don't usually do but i've decided to use this trip to meet some characters that i don't usually meet.

and while it may seem like an odd thing to leave out i usually don't bring my sunscreen to the parks with me.
i apply it in the morning and it does a fine job all day.
and then there's my friend that does bring her sunscreen and reapplies 2-3 times throughout the day and she still gets burned.

  • Wristlet/wallet with medical cards, very small amount of cash
  • First aid kit with neosporin, bandaids, moleskin
  • Sanitizer/hand wipes
  • Disposable ponchos
  • Sunscreen (small tube)
  • On MK days I will have one of DD5's princess dresses if she wants to have it. I'm hoping not.
  • On AK day I will have a change of shirts for all 3 of us because we are going to Boma after.
  • Filtered water bottle
  • Phone
  • Sometimes I carry my DSLR, too.
I use this backpack for day trips all the time. It's great because it's not huge, so i can't collect a lot of useless junk.

wow, how can you guys go bagless.... I'm impressed :)

I usually take a light backpack and contents are

  1. Water
  2. Sunscreen
  3. Book
  4. Painkillers
  5. Plasters
  6. Tissues
  7. Money
  8. Sunglasses
  9. Deodorant
  10. Facewipes
  11. Camera
  12. Phone
  13. Light cardigan / cover up for my arms (pale Irish skin does not like Cali sun!!)
  14. Some little snacks or candy

When I go I bring my small messanger bag with cell phone, camera( wouldn't bring my camera if my phone took nice pictures lol) A portable phone charger I got at best buy for like $20 bucks so my phone doesn't die, a travel size hand lotion and sanitizer, motrin, and my disney gift cards that I use in the parks. No cash.

I have a feeling I will be carrying a bag. I forgot about the portable charger! And I need to go order some sunscreen wipes - they are way easier to carry. I also have a stick (looks like deodorant) for my feet if my shoes start to rub. I wonder what else I have forgotten about - 2.5 years between trips is a long time!

I use a very small cross body bag. Must haves for me are:
  • Mini tube of sunscreen
  • Chapstick
  • Tiny pill box
  • Phone
  • Nikon Coolpix camera (tiny point and shoot)
  • Small hairbrush with hair ties on the handle
  • Band Aid Friction Block stick for my feet (it's very small)
I am the "pack mule". DD 12 takes nothing but her MagicBand. Hubby puts his phone in his pocket. The only thing I really miss having is the beach towel for sitting on at parades/fireworks. Now I just put our butts on the ground. I really miss that beach towel though!

A tiny travel sized baby powder. Orlando heat and humidity can do a number on one's under carriage.

I take a wristlet with my camera, phone, lip balm, license, ins card, dvc card & cash.

I take a mini backpack, and inside I normally have:
  • Phone
  • Wallet
  • Car rental key
  • Mini deodorant
  • Pill tube (allergy medicine, pain killers, etc)
  • Hydro Flask filled with ice and water. The ice usually lasts all day and I just refill at the fountains
  • Portable battery charger
  • Baby wipes
  • Small snack (usually a granola or energy bar of some sort)
  • Super light waterproof jacket for when it rains (http://amzn.to/1DxlaeV)
  • Band-aids

I usually do a mixture of bag and bag less on my trips. I also usually have a couple of different bags with me of different sizes.

Medium Size Bag (Baggallini or Backpack) - Usually for all day trips or when I want to get good pictures of parades/fireworks/characters
DSLR + 1 or 2 lenses
Cell Phone
Wallet
Sunscreen
Small first aid kit
Snacks

Wristlet - Usually due to lack of pockets
Cell Phone
ID/Ins C/CC/Cash
Tylenol/Advil

No Bag: Same as wristlet, but in pockets

Fanny pack with:
Phone
Camera
Credit card and ID
Bandaids
Pepto Tabs
Headache meds
Hand Sani
Sunscreen
Poncho

If I'm wearing shorts with decent pockets, I don't carry a bag. I put my glasses around my neck on a mickey head necklace, small magic wallet with my ID, some cash and a CC, cell phone in one pocket and folded up poncho in the other. If the shorts don't have decent pockets, I have a little hard case thingy I bought at disney that is supposed to be for the pools that came on a lanyard. I removed the lanyard and it has a clasp on it so I just clasp it to my belt lope, glasses as above, usually then I have a small umbrella clipped to another belt lope, cell phone in pocket. Since I rarely wear shorts any more, I'm more comfortable in a sun dress, I tend to carry a small cross body (usually disney dooney & bourke) that will hold cell phone, glasses, wallet, and a well folded poncho. I always have a small pill box somewhere on my person with some advil, aleve and good old fashioned aspirin. If carrying a bag of some sort I throw a small pack of tissues and some bandaids in. I always wear a hat, usually a ball cap type which normally closes on the back with velcro so if not wearing that can hang on a bag, a belt lope, be inside a bag during a ride, whatever. I have to have glasses to read, my sunglasses have bifocals in them so the glasses are usually just over the counter type that it doesn't matter if they break and I buy the smallest ones I can find. I usually have at least three pair with me on a trip. On days when I might need a little more for whatever reason, I have a clear, plastic backpack I use. I always have either a poncho or umbrella with me, no matter what time of year I go, it has rained at least once while I've been there. I used to wear cargo shorts that would hold everything but I can't seem to find women's with the deep pockets that the mens have.
