Hi! Our wedding isn't for a long time but I'd like to start collecting stuff for our welcome bags. I'd love to hear what you put in yours! Feel free to link me or share your pics!

TIA!

Faith sweetie - I went a little crazy with our welcome bags because I had so few guests. I will try to remember what I put into them!!
Body care kit consisting of bath puff, shower gel, bubble bath, lip balm, scented candle

Hair care kit comprising of shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo, hairbrush and mirror

Hand care kit comprising of manicure set, handcream, hand soap, nail brush

Clothes/shoes care kit comprising of sewing kit, shoe-shine pad, travel wash liquid, stain removal wipes

Bare Necessities (first aid) pack comprising of paracetamol (I think in the US you call it Tylonol), ibruprofen, indegestion tablets, antiseptic wipes, band-aids, insect repellent/bite relief. blister plasters

Random items such as tissues, rain poncho, small (cheap) travel alarm clock, travel adapter plug, breath mints

A welcome envelope containing letter of welcome, park maps, card with park times printed on to it, card with the times of all our group ADRs printed on it

I think that is about it!!

The children's welcome bags contained things which would keep them amused such as colouring book, drawing pad, colour pencils, autograph book etc.

I made a lot of work for myself with the welcome bag project as I decanted all the objects into plain boxes or bags and attached labels to them with Disney character pictures on them so as they all tied in together!!
If you want to see examples of the labels, they are on the first page of my PJ.

Good luck, and if I can help, just let me know!!

Heyya,

First off congrats and good luck on your wedding.

We got married at the Italy Courtyard in Epcot so I put together Welcome Bags with treats based on each land in Epcot. The food was a great idea as it gave my guests things to snack on in their hotels.

-Mexico- Tortilla chips and Salsa

-Norway- Isbre Water

-China- Raspberry Fortune Cookies- we ordered them from a company that puts in personal greetings and we put our names and wedding date in them. They were very good!

-Germany- Linden's chocolate cookies, Pretzels and a Bride and Groom Smurf set from Schleich. I am a toy store owner so I had to put in something from my store.

-American Adventure- Coca-Cola and Monogrammed M&Ms in our 2 colors with our names on them (I had the bridesmaids dresses in Rose and Pool Blue like the 2 colors Aurora's dress is in Sleeping Beauty. Didn't mean to just saw my 2 cousins trying on dresses in these colors standing next to each other and it clicked)

-Japan- Pocky Sticks

-Morocco- Tangerines as they represent Tangier, plus I needed some fruit with all this junk food

-France- Lorina Orangeage and Pink Lemonade

-United Kingdom- Ireland- Cadbury Flake bars, England- Twinings English Breakfast Tea, Scotland- Brodies Tea... I know I had more but I can't remember

-Canada- Ketchup potato chips and Salt & Vinegar potato chips

I also put in Glow Sticks and Glow Jewelry as we had an Illuminations Dessert Party the night before the Wedding. I think I put in more stuff but I just can't remember.

I hoped to post pictures but I don't have enough posts yet.

:)I put mine together last minute, but we had a times guide of our wedding days, a door hanger, wipes, advil, snacks, candy, bottled water, and tissues. I think that was it

PrincessTinker11, I love the tags on your welcome bags and would like to order somethign similar for mine. Could you please tell me who you ordered them from? Thanks!

Sure thing! Her name is Kelly and this is her store name on Etsy:

GiGiNoelle10

She also made these fans, we are getting married on Castaway Cay.

And here is a better pic of the tags specifically. I had tags made to attach to the bridesmaid gifts as well....

What a fantastic idea!!! I'll bet your guests were thrilled with your bags!!

Can I just ask why Cadbury's Flakes for Ireland? Cadbury's is a very English company which originated in Birmingham. Just curious! :thumbsup2

Thank you. They liked the bags. I personally could not eat the Ketchup potato chips and I love Ketchup but a lot of my guests liked them. Weird. I had some guests from Canada who were thrilled to see the potato chips.

I totally messed it up. I asked my husband and he laughed at me because not only did we NOT have Flakes, we had Barry's Tea for Ireland. He remembers because he said I had way too much Tea at the time, but I did have De-Caf:surfweb:
And I had Aero regular and mint for the whole United Kingdom as they are popular in England and Ireland and not really sold here except for Irish stores and specialty grocers. But I totally forgot the Teas were the ones specific to each country. My husband loves that he remembered right and I didn't:rotfl: Maybe I thought Flakes because I almost got them at the time but the Irish store didn't have enough for all the bags and my Irish cousins said they like Aero better.

Thanks for pointing that out. I know I forgot other things too. Maybe I will find my Wedding Welcome guide somewhere.

So to clarify:

United Kingdom- Aero Regular and Mint Chocolate Bars, Ireland- Barry's Tea, England- Twinings English Breakfast Tea, Scotland- Brodies Tea

The rest of the list is all right according to my hubby:)
I also put in an Itinerary. I used re-useable Grocery Bags for the actual bags, so my guests could use them again. We got ones with pictures of fish and shells as we had the reception at the Living Seas Salon.

alura sweetie - Thank you for clearing that up!! I wasn't being difficult, just thought you may know something about an Irish love of Flakes that I didn't!!! I prefer Flakes to Aero (I particularly don't like the mint ones) but then I am odd!!!;)

I didn't think you were difficult at all.:)

And you are not weird as I like Flakes so much better too! I think Cadbury are just the best chocolate bars. So creamy. My favorite is the plain Cadbury Dairy Milk bars. Oh no, now I want one.

Aero are kind of weird. I like Crunch bars better honestly, but I was going by what my cousins said and I needed a chocolate that was sold over in the UK.

I agree that we are very lucky with our chocolate here in the UK!! Please don't be cross, but I generally dislike chocolate from the USA. I quite like Reece's but find Hershey's has a really weird taste, almost like sour milk!! :confused3

Jo, I agree and I'm from America!!

I've been spoiled by various trips to the UK and Europe.. now I love Milka, Kinder bars, as well as various brands from grocery stores I've visited in London.

I always buy a ton of chocolate while we are over there and save it for a long time! :lmao:

Yeah, most of the best chocolate is from other countries like the Uk for Cadbury, Belguim for Godiva, and of the course the many chocolates from Germany and Switzerland.

I will say, even though I'm not the biggest fan of their chocolate bars, the Ghirardelli Hot Fudge is so good.

Oh yes, I have to agree that the Ghirardelli chocolate is delicious!!!

We are doing re-usable bags with a custom t-shirt, custom re-usable water bottle, a "times guide" we made (mocked off the one you get in the parks) with our schedule for the week on it and DIY door hangers. Good luck!
