What is going on in Anaheim the week of April 13-19th?

Do you have a link for that information? I would be interested in seeing it.

I am planning a trip soon and I have heard that the April competition is expected to be just as crowded, if not more crowded than one in March.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have link for the attendance numbers, it is second hand information.

Here is a link that describes the competition:

How funny, I thought the same thing! I didn't want to say anything because I think everyone deserves a second chance.

There's a poster on micechat with the name DisneylandIsFun who just joined yesterday. He has 12 posts, and guess what they're all about?

:scared1: The cheerleaders are coming!!!!:scared1:

I'm starting to hear the theme music from Pyscho. :lmao:

I think that part of the reason that it's so busy is that it is still spring break season. A good portion of Utah schools have Spring Break that week. I know that at least 3 families on our street are going during that time. I know that it will be more crowded than when we went last May but . . . Disneyland is still magical even if you have to wait in line. And I can't wait to get to warmer weather :cool1:

I figured as much, but now I have seen for myself. Good work! ;)

Maybe we should rename this thread to "When cheerleaders attack!"

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just couldn't help myself....

Nothing against the cheerleaders per se, but I HATE when large groups of young people come into the parks. There aren't enough chaperone's and they act like wild freaking monkeys escaping from the zoo in the park!!! Running in and out of groups of people, using really horrible profanity (now, I do have a sailors mouth, but I know that Disney is NOT the place for that!) and just been pushy.

If I know it's a big convention weekend with bands, or dancers or cheerleaders, I don't even bother!

The Spirit Team (American Championships)
Estimated attendance: 10,000

And the attendance at USA Nationals in March was 33,000

As I said, we were in the parks that weekend and it was not nearly as bad as some people are making it sound.
Was it busy? Yes.
Were there some large groups of teens? Sure.
But I didn't see horrible behavior from any of them.
:confused3

I know that I will be there for a convention April 13 - 16 - but not for Cheerleading! I'm not sure of the estimated attendance but I think it's over 5,000. Don't worry - it's University staff not students!! LOL

HA! Who you kidding? Those folks from the Admissions Office really know how to par-tay! :rotfl: Although I would never call them discourteous to others under any circumstances.

BTW, it is still unclear whether I'll be flying out for Summit this year, or not. If so, I will definately sneak over to DL for the evenings.

Another Utah resident chiming in to agree--we'll be down there that week, and I know of at least one other family in the area who will be going, and there's sure to be others...we're all tired of the snow and cold and want to spend some time in 70-degree sunshine, I guess!
