I'm sorry. I'm new here. I know this must seem silly to all of you veterns, but what is "GAC"? I did a search, but couldn't seem to muddle through it.
Thanks!
GAC is the abbreviation we use for Guest Assistance Card.
A Guest Assistance Card is a tool to let CMs (cast members) know what types of accomidation or special assistance are needed by someone with an invisible disability.
Someone who uses a wheelchair or ecv doesn't usually need a GAC, unless they have needs that are not met by having a wheelchair accessible line/area. Most of the queues and attractions are wheelchair accessible.
How you get a GAC:
- go to Guest Services in any of the parks with the person with a disability.
- explain the needs that they have
Thank you. I was catching on, but couldn't figure out what GAC stood for. My 7 year old son is a type 1 diabetic. I don't think he needs one of those.
Thanks again for you time.
DD broke her foot and we'll be taking a child sized wheelchair with us. So, we don't need to get a GAC? She is getting around pretty good on our own these days, but we'll still need a chiar for that much walking.
As long as she has a wheelchair, the CMs should recognize that she needs to use accessible entrances/seating for shows.
The exception to that would be that some special needs strollers look pretty much like regular strollers. Someone using one of those might need a GAC so that CMs recognize the special needs strollerr as a mobility device.
