I have never been at Disneyland during the week of 4th of July. I have been to WDW for it before and it's crazy! What are crowd levels like in Disneyland?
I disagree ~ last year the days prior and after *the 3rd 5th & 6th* were quiet ~ the 4th started out that way *the 1st few hours of the day the parks were fairly empty* - yes by evening time it was busy but not scary busy ~ this year we plan to be in DCA during the evening of the 4th and see the special fireworks on the 3rd
Year before last we went on July 4th to DCA. The park was empty all day. Toy Story was 15-20 minutes tops, often shorter. Other rides were all walk on. CM's said DL was crowded but we stayed at DCA. On July 5th and 6th we went to DL. Crowds were very light to moderate until late afternoon when it became fairly crowded, mostly because they had the same fireworks as on the 4th for those nights.
We were told normally the weekend is crazy packed but the past few years all but Premium annual passes are blacked out resulting in lower crowds.
July 4th, visit DCA and stay away from Disneyland. Other days have fun at both.
Thats true! Seems the big crowds at DL are a problem only late afternoon and evening. But DCA was just sooooo DEAD in morning almost had the park to ourselves with most rides walk on! Rest of day was light as well with 10-20 minutes on Toy, TOT and Soar'n.
