What is Fantasmic??

It's the nightly show/fireworks that they have at MGM. It's shown nightly in a 5,000 person outdoor arena. You can also do a dining package the get special seating. Very worth seeing.

Its actually 10,000 seats and its normally FULL by 10 minutes before showtime!

So, if you want to see the show go EARLY (or make ADRs for the show package).

No one can predict EXACTLY what will happen on any given day.
It has totally to do with how much time you wish to invest, and the general crowd levels.

Busy days:
If you go to the first show of the evening (or "only" show that evening), if you arrive about 60-70 minutes before showtime, you can sit just about anywhere.
45 minutes before: Good seats
20-30 Minutes: will vary between seats at edges and rear of theater to SRO or even "closed" to further guests.

Off-Season (not busy days):
You should be OK to enter by 15 minutes before, but you'll likely be seated to the outer edges, and/or way at the back.

If you do the dinner pkg. you can enter 30 minutes before (or a bit later) and still be guaranteed pretty good seats, regardless of crowd-levels.

If there are TWO shows in one evening, the second one will have lower crowd level than the first one. You can arrive a bit later and still find a seat.

Amazing show!

This is a "must see" show we can't miss on our WDW trips! We usually end up on the outer seats because we rarely get there early, but we enjoy the show regardless. I thought our little one may be frightened with the huge snake and dragons but I talked him through it, and he was fine. He has seen it a few times now and he loves looking for the boats coming out on the water for the finale.

It is an awesome awesome show that you must check out. Yeah, you have to be there early but it is SOOO worth it.

Like said above, it is a fireworks meets animation meets live performance show to paint a picture of Mickey's dream. As just said, you will have animation interacting with live characters then having fire and water elements. That's the best way that I can explain it without giving away the plot!
