I'm over on allears.net doing some reading on things I haven't read before and I came across this page talking about scrapbooking. And one thing that was mentioned was getting your Epcot World Showcase Passport signed and stamped in each country. HHHMMM?

I've been to Epcot 3 times (never was my fave park) But the more that I'm reading this board (among others) and looking at all the fabulous pictures, plus seeing a lot of scrapbook pages on Epcot, it's really growing on me. I really can't wait to go back next fall and take many pictures. I want to tell my hubby that when we go, I'd like to be on more of a relaxed pace, than the rush rush rush pace that we usually go at. And this way, I can really experience the park.

Anyhow, reading the little paragraph on this passport, it seems like something I would like to get. Can someone explain it a bit further?

the passport is this mini book that you can purchase all over epcot. it looks like a real passport that you go to each country and get a cm to sign it. they come with stickers that you can put in certain spots and when a cm will sign it they sign it in their language and will translate it for you. its is a cute activity that will be fun. although i will admit that some might not like it but i loved doing it.

Sounds interesting and definatley something that I'd like to do next trip. Thanks.

Oh, cool. This would be a great thing to do for our last day in WDW. We'll be doing Epcot and just taking our time seeing the highlights and spending time at WS and Innoventions.

My DS12 has dreamed of getting a passport book at Epcot, but never wanted to cough up the funds. This trip it's one of the small surprises I have planned for the kids. Figures...it's my bday and I'm planning all the surprises  J/K it's fun for me to see my kids happy. :sunny:

Oh, I didn't realize it cost anything. Well, I'm assuming you buy the passport, right? How much? Do you need to pay for something in each country? I'd really like to know all the ins and out of this passport thingie. Sounds really interesting. Does anyone have a pic of theirs?

You don't pay for anything in the countries. The passport is about $12 as I recall and you can get it in any country.

I bought one for my niece last month. It comes in a kit, you get the passport, a button, and stickers. We had fun going to each country and getting it signed.

My DD9 loved doing the passport last time we were in Epcot. At each country there is an area for kids where a young person from that country will sign their passport and stamp it for them. When we were there it wasn't busy at all and my daughter was able to interact with almost all the passport signers. She even learned a few foreign phrases. She enjoyed Epcot and I was afraid she would hate it. This year she wants to do the passport again and she also loved Soarin'.
Oh I nearly forgot, when she got to the last country which was Canada she told the passport signer she had been to every country. She gave her a small poster with the Spaceship Earth in the background and a bunch of characters on it. Goofy is in the front and it says "Thanks pal, see ya soon". My DD has it hanging up in her room. :tinker:

I didn't allow my kids to put the sticker in for that contry until we had seen that country's attraction. it was a nice keepsake. if you have kids, also do the masks at each country.

What I also did was took 4x6 cardstock and had them stamp that and write message. I have the mask attachment and the piece of card stock along with pictures taken in that country on my page for that country and each country got a 12x12 scrapbook page in my book. morocco looks bare but others look pretty nice.

One thing I want to do is take a pic of a CM in each country to add to page.

This is what the passport that you can buy looks like:

My kids really enjoyed having them last time we went.

Oh great thanks!!! I think I'll have a ball with this next year. Am I right to assume that you can get the kit in either country? And where would I buy it?

Yes you can buy it in any country and I know mouse gears and the store right at entry of WS as you come out of Future world also sells it. THey are usually located right a cash register.

Don't forget to make your mask at the kidcot stations too! My kids loved this activity, and it was free! The first country you visit gives you a masqurade-type mask on what looks like a paint stirrer stick you get at a hardware store. The kids can color the mask, and then the CM stamps the stick with a stamp from their country and places a paper attachent representing their country on the side of the mask. Each country has a different stamp and different attachment. The CM's will also sign your autograph books too. They often will write your child's name in their language along with a special message and translate it for you. $12 may not seem like much for a souviner,(for the actual Epcot passports) but last year lear budget was tight and the masks were great keepsake!

If you come in through the International Gateway, the little souveneir shop right by the gate has them.

Ok, would I be looked at strangely by the CMs if I had the passport and went around to do it (being that I'm 25 years old)?
