What's this all about? Any details? I've never seen this before.

I have heard of this several times as it is usually listed in guide books under special events but I don't know what it's about. I would be interested to know as well.

We will be there begining 3-16 and I haven't heard anything about this??? I would love some info! :cool1: Anyone have any details?? :cool1: Please share!

I would also like some info on this event. We will be there during that time. DD and I both collect dolls and teddy bears. Hopefully someone who has some info will post soon.

I don't beleive I know of this board being stumped...The "listing" was under March 2005 Events at Allearsnet.com. A search drew this limited explanation...I still don't know what it is...(?)

Thank you for the explanation. That helps. But there has to be someone who's been their that can give us a little bit of a review.

Me! Me! I went to the Doll and Teddy Bear show at Disney in 1999. I collect Teddy bears, so combining that with being at Disney, I was in heaven!

I don't think the show is as big as it used to be, but what they do is, all the doll and bear artists will be stationed about the World Showcase at Epcot through out the different countries. If you aren't officially a part of the convention, you can just walk around the World Showcase and see all the different artists and buy pieces they have set out. I got quite a few autographed bears when I was there and loved talking to the artists at the booths. There should also be a shop set up somewhere that sells convention t-shirts and pins and things. They also should have some show exclusives. I read in one of my teddy bear magazines that they will still be doing all this year, but I think for only one day, in the past it was two days. Check with Epcot when you get there to find out what day the artists will be out.

Also check out the Comtemporary, that is where they will be having their banquet and auction. You have to buy convention tickets to attend the banquet and auction, but they will also have competition pieces on display near the banquet rooms that you can walk around and look at.

I was looking for more info, but only found stuff about registering to go as part of the convention so far.

Here is a link to the Disney Events page that gives more information about the Teddy Bear & Doll show.

Epcot's Teddy Bear & Doll Weekend

We will also be done there that weekend, but since it is a ticketed event, we will not be going to it. This year they only have one day open to the "Day Guests" that are in the park and that it on Sunday the 20th.

Most of the events are ticketed, but if you have any interest at all in dolls or teddy bears, it really is worth it just to walk around Epcot while the artists are out in the countries. I remember, that I loved seeing the different companies and artists Disney themed pieces.

I know I saw a list of who will be there, but I can't find it now for the life of me. I only remember for sure that Steiff will be there, Ginny dolls, Madame Alexander and other assorted individual bear artists.

First, thanks to WaltD4Me & Maridw for helping untangle this mystery.

I think I get it now...similar to a trade show or conference, this will be held in the World Showcase Pavilion, not all of the World showcase like I first thought. This will make it a bit more exclusive, except for Sunday afternoon when the Pavilion opens to everyone (those w/o tickets).

I envisioned going from country to country looking at booths, artist, dolls & Teddy Bears, etc.

Thanks for the help!

I believe it has been going on annualy for some time. I know that their are some highly collectable Barbies that are offered to participents. :earsgirl:

It used to be at the beginning of December. I remember stopping in the old Millenium Village to see it in 2001 & 2003 I believe. In 2001 we saw Marie Osmond, she was autographing her dolls. There are alot of booths were people are selling their dolls/bears. They had characters there for pictures. I think it was Sunday, maybe that is the public day.
