What is considered advanced purchase?

Just wondering what is considered advanced purchase tickets for places like Cirque and Disney Quest. Also MVMCP. I'd hate to purchase tickets and not be able to make the events. Do I need to purchase these tickets before I get to WDW? Thank You.

I would think it means buying before the actual event, not at the ticket window at time of entry of event. For some things, like Cirque and MVMCP, they do sell out, so it is wise to buy ahead. Or, take your chance and buy there. Good luck.
