What is considered a decent flight price out of Buffalo?

Hi,

I am trying to be organised and book for the end of January. Flights out of Toronto are crazy so I looked at JetBlue out of Buffalo and right now my dates are $210 pp. Compared to Toronto that looks cheap but is that a decent price or should I hang on for a sale or Southwest? People here keep telling me they wait and fly for $79 from Buffalo but I am sceptical.

Thanks.

If that's $210 per person round trip (with taxes included), I'd definitely book. I used to aim for $200 per person, but prices have gone up considerably in the past year. Lots of people are paying $250/pp and happy with those rates out of BUF these days. I really think that the under $200 fares are gone for now. I've started budgeting $250 and if I get it lower than that, I'm more than happy.

79 dollar flights I think are now a thing of the past:sad1: those seem like pretty good prices, you could always book and get a credit if flights get cheaper.

$89 a person tax in each way is a good price. A couple years back they were lower but now thats about the best

I aim for 250 or less out of Buffalo. I just got a flight out of Toronto for 330 - I'm so excited!

Remember the good ole days when Southwest used to offer $49 pp one way flights? :thumbsup2 And once, I even got Airtran one way for $29 pp and $49 coming home that trip. I too used to look for $800 total for 4, now I jump at $1000 ... since I haven't found anything close to that for our dates in Aug, we are now driving. :)

I would be thrilled with $210 with Jet Blue! We just paid $160 for one way down with Southwest plus $10 for EBCI......but that is for Christmas time. Anything around $100 each way I think is a really good price and I love that you get to pick your seats with Jet Blue and I like the little tvs..........

$210 return is good in today's market. Especially if it's direct and includes baggage fees!

We paid over 300....i gave up waiting to see if they go any cheaper...times were great and no fee for luggage!

I would book it right away. the $79 are things of the past. The last time I saw those rates were 2010 and early 2011.

we have flown out of buffalo for as low as $79 per person perway and as high as 199 per person per way hope this helps

Those nonstop flights for $110 each way at the end of January or $220 rt is a good deal!

Thanks everyone. Now just need to convince Dh we should book it. The seats are still there.

We were going to try driving but not sure if it is a good idea with 8 yr old twins and a 3 yr old! 2 of them have super-stamina so there wouldn't be much sleeping.

I would book! We just booked for $265pp for next month and I'm thrilled with the price compared to flying out of Canada...

We fly to Orlando every year... 3rd week approx in January via Southwest
We pay between 67 - 80 / pp!

Historically (The past 3 January years flights) I booked them all within the later part of October. That when I found the best rates. And I check daily...lol
In January we paid $670 for the 3 of us..round trip direct flights. The January before we paid $448 total!

Best to hold off a bit!

I agree. Haven't seen anything less than $99 in ages. I think SW knows the BUF-MCO flights run full every time no matter what price. There is no incentive for them to sell them cheap.

That's important information to share. What the lowest prices are and when the are offered at those prices.

If I had the stamina I would start a thread keeping track of flight prices out of BUF.

Maybe someone else will bite...

Unfortunately I don't think you can follow the historical trends much anymore. We are paying the same for our late Sept flight as my girlfriend did for March break. Traditionally Sept would have been much less. The prices have completely skyrocketed this year.

We've taken 1 or 2 trips a year for the last few years. Plus I keep a pretty close eye in general trying to determine the best time to go. Flight prices have absolutely gone way up and it is very unlikely to get what we were paying in previous years. dsneygirl is absolutely correct. If you can find something you can live with..BOOK IT.
I am thrilled with the 260 per person we are paying in August out of Buffalo. You have to remember too, that with Southwest and Jetblue that includes the bag fees.
210? I say grab it and grab it now. If it goes down a bit you can always get a credit for future travel. But I highly doubt you will see much lower than that.
