Do you get any prizes like for the christmas ones? (I never go in host rooms...) I'm number 239 in line so i want to know if it is worth waiting for...

Club 33 is an area of New orleans square in DLR that you will probably never see. It is a private club that walt used to entertain his friends when they came to the park. Now adays it is a private club for people who pay the monthly fee of either 3,00 or 30,000 dollars ( cant remember ). But if im not mistaken CMs can get in free

i kind of doubt its 30,000 dollars. 3,000 is more reasonable

it is actually the most interesting place (i've never actually went and sat down and ate, but for a tour i was able to go inside the front office). Walt Disney used to use autioanamatronics (didn't know how to spell that :confused3 :) ) that looked like animals to scare his friends. it was also like an actual New Orleans place that walt and his wife had been to. ;)

Cast members do not get in for free. They are like everyone else. You either have to be a member or have a member make your reservation.

Lunch with one adult drink and tip will run you about $80.

I have had some birthday's there and while it is nice I really would rather spend the $80 at Granville's.

Ouch, that's expensive....

Just a quick Disney-Geek type clarification..;)
Walt never stepped foot in Club 33 (not as it's been seen by the public nowadays anyway). It opened in Summer of 1967 and Walt passed on in December 1966.
I was able to see the lobby area a couple summers ago as part of the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour. I was able to touch the statue thing from Mary Poppins!! (I think it's the one that always "almost" falls when Admiral Boom shoots his cannon.)

It cost $9,750 to join and there is at least a 5 year waiting list...

In is on my list of "Things I need to do before I die." Not really sure how I'll wrangle up the money...

But if im not mistaken CMs can get in free

That would work... That would really work... How do you apply for a job again? As I'm going to college somewhere down in Southern California (all the apps have been sent, yet no response as of now), I'll need a summer job, if you catch my drift. :wizard:

Chances are you've never even seen this mysterious location - it is after all, the most exclusive 'club' in all the Disney parks. And you should know just like Disneyland, Club 33 is not on the VMK map. It's a Special Guest Room reserved for special events (maybe you'll need Tickets? Hint, hint...). Sometimes it will be used for staff events and sometimes we will "rent" it to Guests who have earned the privilege. Since it will be quite difficult to get into (it won't be open to often) we'll only be opening it up to the public for this week. After that Club 33 will be by invitation only!

There are several ways that you can dine at Club 33.

- If someone with a membership dines there, they can invite you as their guest.
- If someone with a membership makes a reservation for you on their membership
- Members are able to donate use of their membership for access to the club for charity auctions. A winning bid on such an auction can get you the ability to dine at Club 33.

Club 33 has a balcony as well that diners are able to access to watch Fantasmic and / or the fireworks. It is also the only place in the Park where alcohol is served.

By the way - the membership price does NOT include the cost of food and drink while dining at Club 33, although reservations at the Club DO include park admission.

To answer the OPs question...No it is not technically a host room and there are no prizes. It is under a host name b/c they are the only ones who have access. We can only access it this week for free.

That's pretty sweet. I guess there is Club 33 in VMK

This might be a little off-topic but a site about the real Club 33 just popped up on Digg. Here's the 411 on the inspiration for one of the new VMK additions.

I was a park castmember for 5 years and you guys are right cast members do not have acess to eat there. There arnt many places in Disneyland that I havent been, I was very fortunate in my department as we were the keepers of Walts Apartment and got to just hang out in there often but even we didnt get 33 privlages but I personaly have had the privlage of dining there two times its very nice and very very expencive you should plan on dropping $100-200 a person for dinner, I spent more beacause I had to get some of the way expencive souviners. In my oppion the food was only ok but its more the privlage of eating there. Members and there guests do not have to pay to enter the park and they can stay in the park as long as they like I do not know if it allows them in to DCA too as I left before it opened. But I do know that the membership fees are Very Very high and even if you could afford it there is a 3-5 year waiting list some times longer.

You enter by finding the small plaquard "33" in New Orleans Square its near the Blue Bayou there is a doorbell and you press that and they open the door for you you check in a small room with a spiral stair case and a beautiful elevator that brings you to the top floor where the restraunt is.
working at 33 is one of the most sought after job in the park many of the servers have been there forever some of them are even laywers who make more money serving and wont leave and I wouldnt either.
The 33 costumes remind me a bit of mansion mixxed with golden horseshoe the men wear black tux like costumes with the 33 logo and the women wear black dresses that are very short with a poofy white underskirt with a black 33 choker necklase and a hair decoration

the back/staff entrance is that beautiful stair way that is between the christmas shop and the Pirates shop.

The restrooms are very nice and is one of only two on stage restrooms that have hot and cold running watter. Even the napkins there have a gold 33 embossed on them, LOL the Free souviners. There is also a more formal dining room called the trophy room that is very manly in its decor lots of dark leather and stuffed animals (not the mickey mouse kind). Walt also had microphones installed in the center peices and decor. and all the artwork on the walls is just beautiful and very historic disneyland better then the gallery. I have some Pictures but I have no idea where they are as they are real photos, I wish digital cameras were around back then. if I can find any pics I have of the artwork in there or of 33 itself I will post them.

Ok, I have to ask, what's the other one? :confused3 Just curious.

I got to go in the lobby on the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour. I'll try to upload those pictures and post them. I have a picture of me in the lift. (The elevator, it's actually a lift. It's a technical difference based on how they're propelled.)
