Hubby is retired, so more money now. And we did a lot of things around the house that needed replacing. HVAC, doors, gutters, shed, new floors. New carpeting is next on the list.
Our household income has pretty much doubled since then, we’ve done a lot of home improvements, my husband had a job that understands the importance of having a life outside of the plant, my son is no longer a teenager (those were some rough years)
Working at a job I like instead of a place I dread going to every morning.
Babysitting an adorable little boy one day a week for the past year who brings me much joy and laughter.
Quite a bit better. My mental health is far better (mostly in the last 6 months). I've been traveling more (being willing to travel by myself whenever I have the chance helps!). I make more money. My mortgage is almost paid off. I have several good, close friends. I've lost about 30 pounds recently. A newish biological med I started 3 years ago means my asthma that used to land me in the hospital is now well controlled to the point of barely being noticeable. New migraine meds mean my previously near daily, crippling migraines are now only maybe 4 days a month and gone within a few hours.
5 years ago I was a few months out from losing my dad and deep in the throws of grief.
I’m not in a toxic workplace! Granted there are some things in my current job that I find issue with as well, but nowhere near the level of toxicity as the job I left was (an example of toxicity: not being paid on time. It got to the point where myself and multiple coworkers refused to work until we were paid. It sometimes took over a month to get paid and I thankfully had a second job at the time so I wasn’t going fully broke.)
