Kidani standard views mostly face the service road that runs along the outside of the villas. Some may have a view of the pool. I believe that there is one studio as well as a couple of 1BR and 2BR villas on each floor that actually have a partial savanna view. But there are quite a distance from the lobby and bus stop. We’ve never been - always stayed at Jambo before this trip . Do any of the standards have animal views like at AKL?
Thank you! Are there giraffes on Pemba? Also what is MS? I know you get a form to fill out with requests and I never know what to writeThere are a group of standard view villas at Kidani that all have direct (not just partial) savanna view of the Pembe savanna. The room request to make through MS is for room "near the Pumbaa elevator." Do not request a standard view room that has a savanna view because MS personnel, who apparently know nothing about the actual room locations, will respond that with standard view you cannot get savanna view. Be aware, however, that if you get that near Pumbaa elevator request, your room will be very far from the lobby and bus station.
If you have a car anything near an elevator or you could have a hike. We’ve never been - always stayed at Jambo before this trip . Do any of the standards have animal views like at AKL?
No giraffes on Pembe. It's a rather small savanna.Thank you! Are there giraffes on Pemba? Also what is MS? I know you get a form to fill out with requests and I never know what to write
Forgot to mention we rented a two bedroomKidani standard views mostly face the service road that runs along the outside of the villas. Some may have a view of the pool. When I’m checking online now it’s only giving me choice of near lobby or near elevator? Are any of those best to see animals? Or do I need to have member request sunset for us?
Renters need to make more complicated requests thru the owner of the points used for their reservation. The owner can then contact member services to add room requests to the reservation.Forgot to mention we rented a two bedroom
Pemba savanna, as mentioned, is the smallest savanna, it also has it’s own barn which is not tall enough for giraffes, thus no giraffes on Pembe. It usually does have a giraffe relative - OkapiThank you! Are there giraffes on Pemba? Also what is MS? I know you get a form to fill out with requests and I never know what to write
Sunset savanna is the largest of the 4 savannas at AKL/AKV, my possibly inaccurate memory is:When I’m checking online now it’s only giving me choice of near lobby or near elevator? Are any of those best to see animals? Or do I need to have member request sunset for us?

Thank you for this information. We have been owners since 2009 and never stayed at AKVs and being our third trip in January, needed to book cheap points resort and was able to piece together a full week beginning last week in Kidani Standard studio. The online requests for Kidani are pointless and should not be used. For example, the "near elevator" request, without the ability to name the particular elevator, could put you in any room in the building because there are three elevators spread out along each of the two long wings of Kidani. Near lobby request, if you get that request and have standard view, assures that you will have no view from your room of any animals.
All requests should be made through Member Services, including the one I mentioned above for near the Pumbaa elevator if you want a chance of getting savanna view (of Pembe, there are no standard views overlooking Sunset) with a standard view room, and if you are renter from a member that means having the member put in the request. Moreover, once a request has been made through MS, it is important to not use that online room location request page at all, because using it will automatically eliminate the request made through MS.
You can make requests via chatting with, emailing or calling MS. Have a great visit!Thank you for this information. I usually make my room requests through TouringPlans (and usually very successful, hoping for that again on Thursday with our one bedroom BWV 9 night stay) but what is the best way to request through MS? Call and have them add to my ressie?
Thank you so much!
