I have two young kids (4 & 7). I am thinking to stay at the moderate. I would like to hear your suggestion.

1. Which resort do you think the kids would love best ?
2. Do you think the Ultimate Hoper make sense (compare to hopper plus)? I mean do you think we would be able hopping around parks and water parks in the same day ?
3. Do I need a car, if I am only going to stay in WDW? (How convenient is the bus/boat/train there ?)
4. IS the current 7 for 5 a good deal ?

Thank you for your help.

If staying at a moderate I would make sure that it is the French Quarter. Their pool is a great for smaller kids in many ways. Our kids and other kids we know really love that pool when they were smaller.

If you are staying on property you dont need a car.

Not sure about the answers to all your questions, but here's a try:
1. I haven't stayed at all the resorts, but I really think kids would like ANY Disney resort. We just stayed at AK Lodge and the pool had a waterslide, that could be a draw for kids. My daughter (5) loved it, but I think she liked the All Stars just as much.
2. We sometimes did 3 parks in 1 day with a 3yr old and 5yr old-so you should have no trouble park hopping.
3. No you don't need a car, that's the great thing about staying in Disneyworld. I have never tried it, but I don't think a car would get you places any quicker because of all the traffic, then parking, then walking or riding a tram all the way to the gates. Then when leaving you battle the people getting on the tram, finding your car and the traffic again.
4. Don't know haven't looked at it.

We just saved a bundle by not doing the 7 for 5 deal - there are 3 in our party so if there are more of you that deal may work better. Also, the time you are going will make a difference, we are going in July which is value time at the Deluxes.

We are staying at the WL (woods view) in July for $134 per night. We also purchased one AP to get the (134.00 rate), and then we purchased 2 for the 5+2 parkhopper passes.

By doing this we saved over $500 in just hotel/park fees alone.

If you call the reservation number ask for the price with the code found on mousesavings for AP and then figure in your passes and then ask for the price for the package and determine what works best for you.

Good luck.

1. I've only stayed at the Swan and Dolphin on site. Their rates are the same or less than a moderate if you can get a Discount. It's a deluxe with a great location when you have small kids. There's a $149 rate through allears.net, as well as that internet rate on the s/d website at certain times.
2. Park Hopper pluses make more sense to me. You can go to the water park one day and not use a park day. I think you get more for your money. Park Hoppers never expire, so if it rains or someone gets sick, you don't lose money. I also think your kids might be too young for Disney Quest.
3. No car needed. That's how we can afford to stay at the Swan/Dolphin. Transportation is great, and we even walk to Epcot and possibly MGM.
4. I don't think the 7 for 5 is a good deal, but I only want to go for 5 days to begin with. I also won't use all the extras. It might be a good deal for you if you use all the extras. Also isn't the package a per person rate. I found it cheaper to pay for one room and park hopper tickets.

1. Which resort do you think the kids would love best ?
Mine are much younger, as long as it has a swimming pool I'm sure they won't be very picky.

2. Do you think the Ultimate Hoper make sense (compare to hopper plus)? I mean do you think we would be able hopping around parks and water parks in the same day ?
If it weren't for the package deals the past two years, I would get a park hopper plus. It eliminates the waste of the first day and last day which you may or may not go to the parks anyhow.

3. Do I need a car, if I am only going to stay in WDW? (How convenient is the bus/boat/train there ?)
I have never had a car at WDW and found the transportation to be adequate.

4. IS the current 7 for 5 a good deal ?
Some are saying No, but I priced the Poly with 7 nights at AP rate and then having to purchase the AP pass with another PHP pass and it was 90.00 more than taking the 7/5 deal. That is staying value season even. I suppose if you already had the AP pass it would have been a better deal. If you go more than once a year then the AP is the way to go I hear on this board so I'm considering the AP anyhow. If you were planning on staying 7 days and not going back next year then a deal is a deal something is better than nothing.
