what is an appropriate tip for the mousekeepers at POR?

just curious what is an appropriate tip. thanks!

We usually leave $1/person each day. On the last night we generally round up to the nearest $5 - after making sure that it wasn't going to be a substitute that day.

I know some people leave more than that, but on our last trip we stayed at AKL & we overheard our mousekeeper telling another m'keeper that we were the ONLY room on that floor to leave her anything.

About the last day....if it's going to be a sub - we leave our standard tip for the sub & make sure there is something extra for our "regular" - or give her the extra on her last day. (It sounded like we didn't leave anything for the sub. )

And I agree with Dan - those envelopes were a really nice touch & I have sooo much fun doing them!

We usually leave $5 per day for housekeeping for our family of 4. I think from their reaction that most people leave nothing. We've always (at least in the last several years) received great housekeeping, lots of extra towels, and several towel animals too.
