I am a first time Disney cruiser. We have cruised other cruise lines before but I had a question. Have any of you ever brought on a bottle of wine or other alcohol on board a Disney cruise?

We have never carried anything like this on any cruise we have been on but we were wondering.

Bring it on....No problems, no restrictions for wine, liquor, soda, water, dog food....oops, that's MY worry.....

We brought a bottle of wine and a 6-pack of my favorite drink - Smirnoff Twisted. Just don't forget to bring your bottle opener!

we brought beer and wine coolers in a rolling cooler, the room steward kept it filled w/ ice all week! and you know what...I think only 2 beers were consumed the whole week! We were just too busy, too full, and the waters were pretty rought that week... :earboy2:

you should have no problem bring drinks on. I brought on water bottles, rum and soda and they helped me bring it on.

We brought two bottles of wine on board on our last cruise to enjoy in the evening on our veranda. No problems. Just remember to bring it in your carryon and as Disneybridein2k3 stated, dont forget your cork screw. They will charge your a corkage fee (unless it has changed) if you bring it to dinner and ask them to open it.

What type of rolling cooler can you bring on the ship? :moped: :drinking:

Soft-sided or, at the most, one that would fit through an airport scanner...The scanner on the ship is the same size....

When you brought the rolling cooler, did you fly to Florida? I know you mentioned that it should fit through an airport scanner (that's reasonable), but I was just curious if you had any difficulties in security at the airport with that.

I just want to make sure because we would like to carry on drinks if at all possible to avoid high costs on the ship (another post is starting to scare me a bit when I hear others talking of their expenses on board).

When I read the Disney info I got after I booked our cruise, I thought it says that you cannot bring stuff on, but I have seen others do it on other cruise lines so I thought I would ask.

Thanks again!

I'm not sure what "drinks" you mean but remember there is now a free soda station on deck 9. This really helps families save money and not have to worry about bringing soda on board.

Also, DCL does allow you to purchase booze in port and carry it on. You can always pickup some soda or wine in port. Just remember that once you open a bottle of booze, you need to finish it as open bottles can't be taken off the ship of Port Canaveral.

We brought our softsided cooler on the plane and had no problems - I bought it from the discovery store.com and also brought large ziplock bags to keep ice in so our drinks stayed cool.
