What is a "Tool"?

I can't find a proper definition of the slang term "tool" as displayed on the Kanye West thread. Also, is it related to Vh1's TOOL ACADEMY?

I just watched (on tivo) Kanye's apology to Taylor on Jay Leno last night.

I forgive him.

He realized what he did and is working to make amends. That takes guts and class.

It would help if he'd lay off the Hennessy, too...

I was another one who didn't know exactly what it meant but now that I do, I think a picture of Kanye West would definitely suffice for a definition. Personally, I don't forgive him. I see right through him. His behavior at the VMA's is just another in a long line of classless behaviors by him.

Oh, and some guy on an EHarmony commercial too.

Not sure what DH's criteria for being a tool is though.

Since he's made that apology four or five times in the last few years, he's getting really good at it. Sadly, his behavior never changes. Therefore, he may not have my forgiveness and it doesn't show any class, in my opinion.

Taylor was on the View today. When asked if he has made any attempt at contacting her personally to apologize, she said he's done nothing, no calls to her or anything. Now that would be a class act, not being a coward by "apologizing" on the Leno show. Big deal. Call the woman, and do the right thing.

I believe he did, after she appeare on the view. However, it is VERY "after the fact" and empty IMHO.

Yeah, I loved how he didn't bother with it until she called him out on it. Then all of a sudden he can't dial fast enough.

He has a long list of previous toolish behaviour and of course the requisite apologies after each of his immature and selfish displays.

I don't believe he is sorry. I think he is sorry that he is getting the backlash that he is getting. He was probably expecting people to run around, bowing down to him and telling him how wonderful he is for ruining a young woman's moment for his own self gratification and ego. He is pathetic, his history and attitude confirm this. He is shallow and only cares about himself. I didn't like him before and I like him even less now.

He will do it again. After all, whats an awards show if Kayne isn't making a scene and stealing someones moment?

I think he's got a pretty bad drinking problem, and he's doing a lot of self destructive things because of it. Maybe it's because I see his behavior as hurting himself as much as he hurts other people that I feel bad for him.

OTOH, if I had been Taylor Swifts mom, all those pretty little patterns he had carved into his skull would have been permanent by the time I was done with him

I didn't watch the show, so sorry if this is wrong, but from what I understand - she had just got done performing, hadn't she? If she did, it would make sense that she was still backstage, possibly with a mic.
