What is a supersaver rate?

Sorry for the naive question!

We booked HRH for an upcoming vacation and they didn't have a AAA rate available. We called back to see if there were any other discounts and they said they could put us at Portofino in a garden view room which is bigger then the HRH rooms at a lower price (total savings would be $100 for the two nights). But they would not work with us on the HRH rate. The HRH is now sold out for the weekend we have ressies there.

I see people here on the board talking about a Supersaver rate. What exactly is that?

Should I go through AAA to book a room to get a better rate?

We have three young kids and we wanted to do HRH b/c of the proximity to the parks.

You can only get super savings rate if you are staying a minimum of 3 nights. Then there is a discount depending on how many nights you are staying. The longer the stay, the deeper the discount.
