We are hoping to get a 2bdr standard view at BLT next May.

Can someone tell me where these rooms are and how high up they are?

I like to be in higher floor rooms but I have a feeling the standards are all lower floors.

Std view rooms are on the first 5 floors of BLT. See the thread by work2play on the BLT layout for the locations of the std view rooms throughout the resort. The thread is in the DVC-Planning forum. BTW, if you decide to book a std view room you need to do it quick they go fast because of the low point requirements,.

We haven't stayed in a 2bdrm, but did stay in a standard studio last December. It was a wonderful room on the 2nd floor - our view was of MK and the contemporary. Our 2 little guys thought the view of the monorail (right outside) was the best!! We also decorated our balcony with lights and they could find it as we headed home every night (another huge hit). My hubby and I enjoyed sitting outside after bedtime and watching/listening to the monorail and watching the MK towards the end of the night. I think it all depends on if you are room people - even with little guys (almost 4 and just over 1 last year), they love the fireworks so we were only back at the resort one night to do totw lounge. Other than that, we were in the parks for fireworks. I think it depends on what you want out of your stay.

When we stayed there last year I requested a high floor on the outside of the "C". We were given a 9th floor room overlooking MK and BL

You had a 9th floor SV room? I was told mostly floors 1 - 3 but a few on 4th and 5th.

I believe based on the description, the villa described above was an Theme Park (MK) view. No way would it be a standard view. Do check our work2plays thread at the link posted by supersuperwendy above.

This is interesting. I have a standard 2 bedroom dedicated booked for Oct. 31 and am expecting to be on the 1st or 2nd floor (guess I read this somewhere). I bought into BLT specially because I knew how hard the standard rooms would be to get, so called at the 11 month window and was nervous that I might not get this cat. room. I read there are only a few dedicated 2 bedroom standard view rooms. I would like a higher floor, but I'm happy regardless. I was in a LV 1 bedroom in May that I booked at the 7 month window. I tried for a standard room but they were long gone at the 7 month window for the first week of May calling on the first possible day at 9:00AM.

Whoops!, just checked back (I took a photo of the room number) it was actually the 7th Floor. It was just after it opened so maybe the room policy changed or we got an upgrade :cool1:

That would make sense. I have heard that some of the rooms have had a change in classification since last summer when things opened.

We will typically book SV rooms but decided this summer (DH's first trip to BLT, my 3rd!!) to do LV since it was only 3 points more per night and I know he won't be a fan of 1st floor.

Its nice to know that some are getting those on higher floors!
