 I've read so many posts on this and other sites about repo or re-positioning cruises. Would an expert please clue me in on what this is? Many thanks.

A repositioning cruise is one where a ship leaves one "home" port to relocate at another home port...these may be temporary or permanent. For DCL, there were 2. In May, the Magic went from Port Canaveral to a port neare LA for the 50th anniversary of Disneyland. It sailed out of LA for the summer. In August, it will sail from LA back to Port Canaveral.

We are a major bunch of DCL fools on the August cruise, so are talking about it a lot.

Other lines do repo cruises when they sail from near Canada for Alaska cruises during the summer, then relocate for Mexico or Hawaii cruises in the winter, etc.

Ah, I see. I thought maybe they were cruises that were repossessed from people who didn't pay! Not sure how that worked...
