What is a PREMIUM mvmcp date?

I was adamant that we were not doing the MVMCP, but now I’m thinking we might do it on our last night and just deal with crabby, cranky kids on the flight home the next day.
I’m wondering how much are the tickets? I’ve read a bit on this link (************************************mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party-review-tips/) that the party price varies by a “premium” date and by age. I get the age thing, but what is a “premium” night? If we do go to the party, it will be Thursday, NOVEMBER 20. (FIXED because I had December instead!)

Any insight is appreciated!

what is a “premium” night?

A night that is very busy and "extra full" of guests.

They don't discount tickets on those nights as those nights naturally
tend to sell out at full price.

BTW, In case you are wondering, "**************" indicates a site that is not allowed to be directly discussed on this forum.

Can you go to an earlier one rather then wait until the last night of your trip? If it's too crowded then it's no fun. We went last year and it was a blast but it was one of the less crowded ones. It was worth every penny and more. Tuesday is usually the best I think. Also, are you sure December 20th is a Thursday? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong year but I think it's a Saturday

If there is one thing that it's OK to just say straight out, it is
on what day a date falls on, in a given year.

I think we can all agree that Dec. 20, 2014
does, in fact, with no equivocation, fall firmly on a Saturday. ;)

And, :welcome: to the DISboards, Sarah!

I have mixed feelings about those higher priced party nights. I know that one year we went and the Tuesday we went was sold out and the Thursday had a very light crowd. I never could figure out what the big difference was until I got home and someone here on the DIS pointed out that all the discounted nights had been selling out. Just pick the night that works best with your schedule.

CRAP! I mean NOVEMBER! NOT, December.

So, if anyone is still reading this thread, what about a Thursday in NOVEMBER.

And thank you for letting me know about that link. I had no idea. Sorry!

How will I know which party dates are more popular or more crowded? Is there a crowd-calendar type thing for the parties I should be checking?

This is the one I went by last year. If you scroll down it lists them in order from least crowded to most crowded. I haven't seen the 2014 one yet but I'm watching out for it because I am planning our Christmas trip now

Actually it is saying I can't post the link because I'm too new lol. I took out the http part from the beginning and now maybe it will work.

Nothing to be sorry about.

I suspect Thursday the 20th will be crowded as people coming in for Thanksgiving and wanting to do the party only have that night and the next before the party is off for a week for Thanksgiving. It will probably be slightly less crowded than Friday night. If there is a party early in the week that you can attend it will probably be less crowded.

So according to that the one on Thursday 11/22 would have been predicted as one of the most crowded but the parties in the week prior to that were significantly less so.

Crowds really are a big factor in our enjoyment. We rode every ride at the party last year after the fireworks with no more than a 5 minute wait. We easily got a parade and fireworks viewing spot without having to stake out a place really early or anything like that. I know it doesn't matter to some but I wouldn't have enjoyed it if it was much more crowded than it already was.

Thanks, everyone! I'll have to research it a bit more and really think about it. We weren't going to do it because my kids are 5 & 3 and generally do not do well at all staying up late. And by late I mean 8:30. But I figured they could sleep in (ha!) the next day and maybe even sleep on our flight home.

Hopefully I did not post a site that isn't allowed to be discussed. Forgive me if so. I'm new here!
