When you go to the grocery store, head on over to the veggie department, pick up some veggies or fruit & place them on the scale...what do you notice? Sometimes you want only a pound of something and when you put the food on you realize it's only half a pound. So what do you do? You slowly add more to make it go to the pound mark. When you're finally done you note that there is a lot of "stuff" there.

Same thing for the deli department. You ask for a pound of cheese. The deli person starts slicing and puts the meat on the scale. You think it's a lot but it hasn't reached that pound mark. SO you watch as they keep adding and adding more meat to the pile. By the end that pile is pretty high and you have a lot of meat sitting there.

Why am I writing all this?? Because I've sat back and read many of your posts because as I stated in a previous post of mine that I find you to all be a group of positive supportive people and at this point in time in my life I need to be exposed to that. While reading those posts I've noticed some people say I lost only .5 of a lb or only 1 pound. Do you realize just how mich 1 pound is???

Pick up a jar of sauce...a bag of frozen veggies and feel just how heavy a pound is. It's A LOT!!!! So for all of you who have lost "only" a pound...I say the same as all the others....GOOD FOR YOU!!!!

Thanks for the reminder :). It can get really hard feeling good about "only" a half pound when one's goal is so great!

What a great post!! Thanks for the reminder, Suzy Mouse! Losing a pound sounds much better when I think of it that way!! :):)

Thank's for the reminder. Sometimes we caught up in the big picture and forget to celebrate the daily victories!!

By the way, I was down another half pound this morning for a total of 35.5 pound since January and 13 pounds since joining WISH!!

I think it's what those English folks call a dollar.

They have all these strange names for their money over there like "pence" and "shilling".

What's up with that?

LOL Bloat Fairy!

Years ago, my Weight Watchers leader brought in a pound of chicken fat to show us what a pound looks like. It was kind of gross, but she made her point.

Thanks for the reminder Suzy Mouse. It's something I needed right before the weekend. (when I have on occasion crashed and burned)

Thank you, Suzy Mouse! See everyone? It's not just me. Suzy Mouse is very smart and she agrees with me.

You are right, Suzy Mouse, losing even 1/4 of a pound is quite an accomplishment. I keep trying to tell them that.

I think it's great to celebrate even .1 pound loss. I will take any opportunity to celebrate, it's easier to continue toward goal if you are smiling and have a positive attitude, don't you think?

Visit us again, Suzy Mouse, you have inspired me this evening, thank you.
