What is a navigator's verandah?

I understand it is an enclosed verandah with a large opening, and has nautical touches with it, located to the back of the ship on decks 5/6/7, where the white outside metal trim comes down.

It is not a full open Verandah

Navigator verandas are our favorite. They have solid bottoms and a large cut-out porthole)large oval on the Wonder, large circle on the Magic). So you have a little more privacy but still get lots of sunshine and fresh air. Instead of 2 chairs and a small table you get one padded wood chair, a small wood table and a padded bench.

These rooms only hold 3 people not 4. They are located in the back of the ship so it is very easy to go up to Topsiders/Beach Blanket.

We had a Navigator's veranda in December and really enjoyed it. Still got friesh air, but not quite as windy.

My sister, her husband and three daughters had connecting rooms with Navigator's veranda's and she she really liked it. She felt a lot more comfortable with her daughter's being on the veranda because it wasn't as open. Other's in our party had normal veranada's so she was able to get a good compairison.

I cannot give a better description than what has been posted already.

I'll just add that we enjoyed the Navigator's Verandah we had during one of our cruises.

We would pick this over a regular verandah for all the reasons stated above: privacy, provides some shade but sun if you want it and its sheltered from the wind which means you can use it of an evening.

Strongly recommended.

We had a cat 6 on our 2003 Western, and loved it, but have booked a cat 7 for our Aug 05 repo cruise...the price difference was only $200, but I thought with the heat and glare the cat 7 might be a better choice. We'll see, have cat 9s for our Oct Eastern, may wish we'd have gone that way.

Hi all,

Thanks for this -- we are thinking of booking a Cat 7 also and weren't sure what it was!

One clarification-- I read somewhere that it was a "glass porthole"-- is it actually a glass window or just an opening?
