What irrates you about your bedroom?

Right now, I'm trying to move a large recliner through a "very small doorway". 🥵😡 I know it's possible because it had to get in here some way. I just pulled something in my back and I'm really putting on an act to get DH to help me. 🥺 I guess I'll have to wait though because he's working right now.:bored:

Not enough light. My bedroom only has one window.
Bedroom has 5 windows that spans from one corner of the wall, across the front, and one window on the other corner. I have 8 windows in the living room. Thing is, there's awnings over each window so despite having so many windows, it's dark inside and opening the blinds to see out makes it even darker because it's so bright out but none of the light penetrates into the living space because of the awnings.

Main bedroom is huge, way too big as all I do is sleep in there. It could have been reduced to normal size and left more room than the 18 inches between the fridge in the corner and the countertop on the other wall in the kitchen to walk through from the bathroom into the living space. Or could have left more than most peoples' closets here probably for a 2nd bedroom.

No light switch. I have to walk across the room to turn on the light. I do intend to get a floor lamp to put closer to the door, but I haven't found one I want yet.

Also, in winter the heat is super loud in my room.

Too few outlets, outlets in the wrong places.

This is one of things that annoy me about my house in general.

the fact that it's now also my office and is wall-to-wall furniture because I took the smallest bedroom when we moved into this townhouse (before the pandemic, when I was working outside the home). I can't even recline in my desk chair because i hit my bed, and I can only roll my desk chair about 6 inches right or left before I either hit a wall or my closet door.

The ensuite bathroom door is too small for a wheelchair to fit through.

When we moved in, the plan was that my husband would get this larger bedroom because it would give him more room to move around in. But, it wouldn’t make sense for him to have to leave his room to use the bigger bathroom and for me to have to come into his room to use the ensuite. He has equipment in his bathroom so we couldn’t share the main one. So, I have the larger room with the ensuite.

Not having enough space for a bigger wardrobe. I keep saying in our next house I want to have a whole dressing room!

Our L shaped bedroom is not big enough anywhere for a queen size bed, so I have to be careful not to bump my head on an eave getting in and out. Lighting stinks because there is no ceiling light, only lamps. Closet is under another eave, so I get to shimmy down the side to get to my clothing. Hubby gets the easy bed access and closet rod in front because he is 6" taller then me. The ceiling is cracked after two earthquakes, the trim is an ugly dark green (and I picked it, yuck!) and the curtains aren't hemmed. The carpet is a nasty dusty rose but we can't afford to rip it out. I have too much clothing to fit in dressers and closet when they are all clean :rotfl: so there are laundry baskets full of clean clothes. Oh, and the huge dog crate is in the bedroom too. The cherry on top is that the cat peed somewhere in the closet, but I haven't found the exact spot yet. I just keep spraying areas in there with the enzyme spray, hoping to get lucky :rotfl2:

My bed is too big for the room. A few years ago when my son moved in with his fiance. they kept her bed and he traded me his big king bed for my smaller bed for one of the kids. Very nice bed but the headboard/footboard (sleigh style) takes an extra 12/14 inches causing me to have to be careful when opening the bedroom door. The room itself is big but the way it is shaped that is the only place for a bed. Had no headboard or footboard on the old bed so had xtra room there. Thinking about just getting some bed rails & not using the head/footboards. But then I would have to store them somewhere, lol.

The fact that it looks like college bedroom. I’ve stripped it of everything but have know idea where to begin. I need Inspiration.

Everything. My furniture is way too big for the room. Room needs to be painted and we need the carpeting replaced. I have a huge 4 poster bed so that is making the other projects hard to complete. I’m seriously thinking of replacing the set as it is quite old but it is really good quality. My dd will be moving out soon and maybe she’ll take the set. I’m wondering if furniture is still taking a long time to order?
