We leave in one week~~
After much stress & thought over what to ship (due to the airline restrictions for carry on's) , and what to buy through gardengrocer or other delivery service.. I made a final decision and I feel SO freed!!
*This also saves money BTW, shipping and I would have gotten more food if I'd placed an order*
Okay, rather than having groceries delivered, I made a list of the MINIMUM that I needed as regards to food.
We are on the DP and will not have a frig.
So I bought one 12 pack of Dr Pepper (DS would die w/o it
) a box of Honey Nut Cheerios (same DS won't eat anything else for breakfast) Chips Ahoy cookies in snack packs (you guessed it, DS won't eat ANY other dessert!) and here's the kicker....a 12 pack of bottled water.
Also paper plates (Disney ones at walmart) for the cereal, plastic spoons and napkins.
I am packing all that in one small suitcase. I bought huge ziploc bags (2 gallon) and placed the WHOLE 12 pack of DP inside (double bagged) so that if one explodes or leaks, I think it will be contained inside the bag!
Also, I decided to keep things more simple and I am only bringing about 7 bottles of water (I got tall skinny bottles, Nestle brand I think, so they will fit in the little mesh pocket outside my Bagallini!)
I have a collapsible cooler that I will put ice in every night to keep the water cold, then when those run out I will just refill the bottles at the resort and stick in ice over night.
Okay..lastly I was going to ship a package to the resort..stuff like travel sized shampoos, hairspray, all the stuff I would normally put in a carry on. Then I thought, Why am I doing this? I am just putting EVERYTHING I can't carry on in our checked luggage! If our luggage gets lost it would be a disaster anyway!
Plus sides to all this (for me) is less stress, I won't be worried about my package being shipped, or grocery delivery..etc. Plus I am saving money, too.
Only down side for me is that two things I would have gotten delivered is milk and bananas...I'll just have to pay the food court prices for those things every morning.
I know this was long but if you read it all I hope it gave you some ideas!
ETA: The water bottles I am also bagging up in case of leaks.
