What if something happens and you don't make it to your ADR? I am not saying that I plan on not showing up but what if something comes up and we are not able to make it. Will we still have our credits taken(DDP)? Sorry if this is a dumb question but this is our 1st trip and I want to make sure so I will know what to expect!

If you make a reservation at California Grill, you are required to put down a credit card number and you will be charged if you miss it -- have you already made your ADRs? if so, I'm sure the credit card thing was explained to you if any of your reservations required it.

Otherwise, no, nothing "bad" happens other than messing up the planning of the restaurant and its ability to serve other guests. The best thing to do is to have the disney dining number on your cell phone and to call when you realize you're going to miss an ADR. You can also use the hotel phone or guest services at the parks to cancel.

No, they will not take your credits, however I believe some of signature restaurants and the Fantasmic packages will charge you a small fee, like $10.00 for a no show.
Also, CRT if you did OOP in advance, not sure they will refund.
Can someone else confirm this?

From what I was told making the ADRs, there is NO penalty for missing most of the ones you make. Any ADRs that require a credit card to hold or prepay will have some sort of charge if you don't show or cancel within I think 48 hours. The ones I know about with cancel fees are CRT (which I think is fully prepaid), the Storybook meals at akershus, Cali Grill, and Hoop de hoo. I'm sure there are a few more though, but if/when you make reservations for those places, the CM should explain "I need your CC info and there will be this charge if you don't show..."

The nice thing to do is cancel once you know you can't make it, but honestly I was in WDW last week and when I did try to cancel, I was met with a 15 minute wait time on the phone. I even stood in line at the hotel trying to cancel (the DVC check in line where they will do ADR's for you) and that was a long wait, LOL. It's the thought that counts. I ended up just not showing up.

If you need to cancel an ADR, you can do that at any TS resturant. It is sometimes easier that waiting in a line at guest relations or for the phone to be anwsered.

The only resturant i know of is the Akersus Resturant in Norway at Epcot that will charge you. This is because when i made my ressie for it, we had to give a card number and they said you have until 2 days before the ressie to cancel. If you dont, or dont show up, they will charge the card $10. per person that didnt make it.
