What if Jet Blue price drops after you purchase?

Just wondering if anyone had ever bought a ticket on Jetblue and then had the price go down. Did they give you a refund or just a credit toward a future flight?

I bought tickets for Jetblue last summer when they first announced they were leaving out of Newar. I thought the prices were good. A week or so later they went down. I called and they will give you a credit in your JetBlue account which has to be used within 1 year. This is a whole lot better than other airlines such as Continental who has a $25 change fee for a price adjustment.

they price sdropped 2 on our flights last year
we now have a credit over 200 bucks we will be using this to go back now this year

Thanks! I wonder if you could use the credit toward the purchase of airfare for someone else. I am not a big flyer and I can't see that I would be flying again in one year.

I am looking to fly to CA at the end of August and it seems that Jetblue's sale airfares are only good for travel through May. I really would like to get my tickets, but I am hesitating to see if any sale fares come out as the dates get closer.

Right now fares are running around 149-169 each way depending on the airport. But the sale fare is $119 which for 5 tickets would be a pretty siginificant difference.

Oh well. I'll just have to think about this.

The news just reported today that Jet Blue did not make a profit the last quarter. They are saying prices will be going up due to fuel costs. I would make my reservations as soon as possible.

JetBlue will issue a credit to you for the difference of the lower price, but be advised that how this happens is through cancelling the old res & making a new one. You run the chance of not getting the first set of seats that you booked.(Only good luck for us so far)Our flight rate dropped two times after our inital purchase. You do have one year on the credit, in which you will need to make a new trip res.(so don't go crazy thinking that you might not be able to use it yourself-you just have to make a res-not travel within the year)
The credit is transferrable, because it is just like cash-just a credit.

Also a word to the wise:
Check ebay under jetblue airlines credit, or jetblue airlines voucher.(there are alot of people that are looking to auction off their credit for unbelievable rates. I got a 100.00 credit for $75! AWESOME)

I don't believe this to be correct.
I booked a flight with Jet Blue the fare went down, I called them and they put a credit my acct. to be used within one year. Could not have been easier.

Don't cancel anything. If the fare goes down, just call Jet Blue and you will get a credit.

When you contact JetBlue you advise them that there is a fare decrease for your exact travel flights-they will do all the work for you, they DO cancel your original res that had the higher rate & reissue the same info with the lower rate.(I've done this two times already) Your res. number remains the same, and a credit is issued to you at that moment. My point with mentioning the "warning", is that your seat assignment may have to change.(For me, I have had luck both times)

This is true. My fare has been adjusted 2 times already-and your right it couldn't be easier. But again, your seat assignment is the only thing that may change.

I called Jet Blue and the agent I spoke to said,she changed nothing on my ressie, just put the credit into my acct.

My experience was different. I will just advise the original poster to speak with JetBlue directly, as it is not a hard process requesting a price adjustment credit.(also ? the seat reassignment)
I'm not a SEASONED poster like ALLYBRI, and time is too valueable to debate.

We booked tickets to San Juan and they dropped a lot and I have a credit for over $500.00. I just called and they put it in my True Blue account. I am really happy and this will help for my tickets for October.

jet blue is great. like others have said they will give you a credit. There is no need to cancel first. I was in FL last feb and the prices went down and they just gave me the credit into my account. When I booked my flight for this past january they were running a special. I flew from NY to MCO for $39 each way. For 2 people in was $190 round trip, minus my credit from last year it was $72 total for the 2 of us round trip. no wonder they aren't making any profit.LOL
