What if... B2B with status change between?

I'm now pondering doing a B2B on the Wonder over Spring Break (in addition to my Winter Break Magic cruise - so if I do it I'll have been on all 4!!). I've got a list of like 7 cabins (in the category I'm looking at) that I could get for both cruises, so that's easy peasy (I should know within a week or so, and I figure the odds of them ALL selling out are slim).

If I do it, the first cruise would be my 5th on Disney, so I will technically be Gold for the second part of the B2B. I'm not worried about it for booking anything - it'll be chill time anyway - but do they automatically make the switch when I check into the second cruise?

Yes. On the first cruise you'd get the Silver Castaway Club gift, and on the second cruise you'd get the Gold gift.

If they try to give you another Silver lanyard, just have them check for your status, that you just made Gold.

This B2B scenario happened to me. Not sure if what happened is standard but DCL didn't recognize the move to gold. My new key card showed silver and I got the silver gifts when I got back on board. CM at the dock-side checkin stand said he didn't see me in the system as now being gold. When I got back on board I went to GS and asked what's up...they also said I wasn't showing as gold but thought it was just a case of the system needing to catch up with the new status. GS did recognize that I'd been on 5 cruises before and now I was standing in front of them :rolleyes1on another cruise so they gave me a new card and lanyard. Later the gold gifts were delivered to my cabin. Again, not sure if this has happened to others...

YMMV

I know it typically takes a few days for the website to catch up with the new status when moving up. And has some other issues - DH & I have taken the same number of cruises. When we reached Platinum (completed 10 cruises) his status showed Platinum, mine showed Gold. But we both had the same number of cruises in the system. I had to call and ask them to fix it. I was told they were having some issues at that time with this same problem for a number of CC members.

It took about 2 weeks for the site to show me as Platinum, but the number of cruises was right. :confused3

Thanks guys! I'll keep everyone posted. I'm really wanting to do it as I just looked at the itinerary for the 3-night and it's PC - Sea Day - CC - PC!!! So I don't even have to spend two Nassau days on board!!
