I got a pin in my e-mail but it is in my father-in-law's name...who does it belong to then? Our family has a grandfather, son and grandson that all share similiar names and since we have all been there togther I am assuming that is where the confusion happened. But WHO GETS THE PIN?
The irony is that my father-in-law went once and will never go back and we try to go at every chance. Whhhhhyyyyyyyyyy oh why did HE get one in his name?
Thanks for any input or advice...

We got one last year in a severely mispelled version of our name. I called and Disney honored it. Give it a shot, it should work.

they may or may not honor it.They wouldn't allow me to use the 40% off one that came to my house.

Same problem here....

I keep getting PIN offers in my father's name. I booked a trip one time for him and used my email for the confirmation. Now all the disney destination offers that come to MY Email address are in his name. The same email address is also on my account information, but for some reason they never come w/ my name on them.... just his.

I called disney and asked them to remove my email from his account.
I've also sent 2 emails about it.

But they all still come in his name.
:(

I got an email too to my address but my sisters name. i set some things up for her when we all take a vacay together in 06. I really want to take advantage and use it b/c it is a good deal around the time I want to go for my anniversary. I read on another thread they got them to change the name just wondering if anybody else has had any luck with that and what do you think my chances are? Any help would be greatly apperciated!! Thanks

On two occassions I've had PINs come to my address under my best friends name. Both times Disney has honoured them. Sometimes it just takes some effort and polite firmness on your part. The way it has been explained to me is that PINs are tied to the HOUSEHOLD, not the person.

Thanks.... I knew I should call but was to scared they might say no and then that would have ruined my day. But I feel better now and my odds seem a little better. I will let you know what I find out. I do know that I am going with the code or without!!!

I have received 2 codes in my sister's name to my email and CRO wouldn't honor the 1st so i did not call back about the second one.

It is very upsetting because she also gets them to her address but i NEVER get codes and got so excited when i saw it.

For those that got them to honor it...what was your strategy in asking to use it?:rotfl:i went so far as to say i was booking for my anniversary and got no where. i did end up booking something later on.

Well I called and NO they would not honor it! So bummed :sad1:. They said if it would have been tied to my street address as well they would have honored it. Don't know what to do know I want a code so bad just to help out with the trip!

They refused to honor mine and I was very polite yet persistent multiple times. The person whose name it was in was dead, not to mention never ever lived at my address. They not only refused , but were rude and made me feel like a cheap criminal for asking( one Cm told me if I couldn't afford a trip without a discount ,maybe I shouldn't go).I wrote a letter of complaint because of the way I was treated.About 4 weeks later I got a phone call as follow up.They gave me the whole"can't use unless blah blah " I explained that I was more upset with the treatment of me.Long story short they apologized, and then extended the offer to me BUT it had to be at the resort they had chosen ( there were 2 value and Moderate)and neither were my choices.I ended up getting the 40% thru my TA anyway, but I still have not forgotten how i was treated

You can give it a go, but I would not expect anything when phoning in. Disney is cracking down on applying codes that is not in your name.

Pins are tied to the person. If my husband gets a code but is not going on the trip, I cannot use the code.

Just a word of warning: they may apply it, but you may find a different scenario at check-in. Just something to keep in mind. ;)
