You will first need to show your Key to the World card to a CM, and then after you collect your luggage you need to show your passport to the border official. It's all very smooth. We've never been asked anything about what we purchased or how long we were then going to be in the U.S. for.

When we cruise we always have our Canadian passports on us just in case something goes wrong and we do not make it back to the cruise ship on time and need to make our own way to the next port of call to meet the ship. It happens sometimes that not everyone makes it back to the ship. We always have our passports and travel insurance document with us.
You have to show photo ID and your key to the world card to get back on the ship.
In the days when they kept your passport when you boarded the ship, we used our drivers liscense, but now since they no longer hold onto your passport, I just bring that with me.
I have never been on a Disney cruise before but have cruised the Caribbean before. I took a photo copy of my passport. Some people say if you get stuck (miss the ship) that you are out of luck with a photo copy.....I just made sure I never got stuck
The most recent advice we got from our TA was to take our original passports with us. She also suggested that DH carry a photocopy of my passport i.d. pages, and that I should carry a photocopy of his. Our insurance certificates are wallet-sized, so we always have those with us.
Oops, my mistake. I think I jumped to answer because when we were leaving the ship, I of course had packed away the KTTW cards and had to dig them out!
As a PP noted, you generally just need your KTTW card and driver's licence. But like another PP, I have a colleague who is a veteran cruiser and he never leaves ship without a photocopy of his passport.

Just ensure your photocopy is color and is noterized! We learned this the hard way last year.
Long story short lost our passports spent a day in Miami getting emerg paperwork to come home, the airline found the passports right after we had cancelled them, got back to Canada and discovered if we had a copy and our birth certificates (which I always have) we would have been fine!!
