What I was Told About Free Dining When Booking Future Stay

When we were there in September a restaurant manager told me that they had announced to the CM's that Free Dining was being extended to EVERYONE who was on property at that time frame.
I have never seen any indication this was correct. Guests have to book dining (free or not) as part of a WDTC package 3 days/72 hours before arrival.

Luv2Roam, I promise you that a restaurant manager at AK really did tell me this. I did not believe it at first and questioned him a bit in case I was misunderstanding him. He seemed quite sincere but I have come to believe that he was just wrong but thought he knew what he was talking about.

It made me happy to think, for a brief bit, of families who had saved for the trip to receive such fantastic news upon arrival though.

I do wonder if Disney is not finding that the dining package, free or otherwise is keeping folks on property more and it is worth it to them.

This last trip (3 weeks!!) was the first trip where we did not eat off property. Free (minus the $20 room discount) will do that to me. lol

My guess is if they still have a need to sell resort packages in the late summer, they'll have it available to be booked contemporaneously again. The practically nonexistent hurricane season of '06 might mean they don't need to offer incentives to fill rooms, but September is usually a slow time that might need a nudge.

Cast Members are only made aware of special offers right before they actually take effect. Anything that you hear about the future is only speculation.

April is a busy month so you won't see and "free dining" offers for that time.

I did not mean to sound as if I did not believe SlightlyGoofy.
But I am certain that manager was mistaken. That CM probably heard, read, or was told incorrect information, or misunderstood what was said.

According to some of the CMs booking the Future Stay promo, if it goes well they might reopen it to guests staying in April for travel in Aug./Sept.

Luv, never fear. I did not take your post amiss. I was just trying to explain that I had questioned the manager as I did not believe what HE was saying. Not that I thought he was lying, just misinformed. There was a whole lot of misinformation about the Dining Plan when we were there and it was really subject to individual interputation by the CM's who often did not have the info that us DISers had. Had a great time anyway.

Gotta go with the flow and if you let the small things matter you miss out on many great big wonderful things.

(My smilies sometimes do not work and you all cannot see my Goofy grin)
