What HRH side/hall/wing do I want my room in?

OK, I know this is probably bordering on planning too much, but now that I have seen the HRH's layout (thanks to the map at www.wdisneyw.co.uk/hrockmap.html ) I am wondering which wing to request, so I know this is the place I can get the answer!

Basically, I know that there is a 2nd path behind the water slide to walk from the hotel to the parks (correct?) so I was thinking the wing by the slide, but if there is only one elevator (correct again?) then maybe the central/main hall is where its at (especially since we will also be using the water taxi for citywalk and dinner at mama's)

I'm so confused! please help!

THANKS!

We were in the room right next to the stairwell that led down to the side entrance to the pool (end of the hall). I guess it would have been convenient location vis-a-vis the pool if we were on a lower floor, but we were on the fifth floor, and the trek down all those long flights of concrete firestairs wasn't very appealing--we didn't even attempt the trip back up! The problem with this location is that it is three long corridors from the elevators--a very lengthy walk. I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel that had rooms located so far from the elevators. And at the end of a long day, returning from the parks, that "last mile" seemed endless!

I too am interested in the answer here. If someone can post an answer using references from the map(on the link),as to where the elevators are located and which room has easy access to park. I would appreciate it too.

Why isn't the path behind the slide on the map?

I think the path by the slide isn't on the map because it is more for employees to access the parking lot on that side. You kind of walk around the edge of that lot noted at the top, and then there's apath to that part where the hard rock is marked.

The elevators are located kind of between 2 and 7 on that map. As you can see it is a LONG way to the end of the hotel by the slide. I would be more toward the elevators, although not by an ice machine they are horribly loud IMO, then walk out the entrance by the 2 on the map and follow it around toward the path by the slide. We took all the paths and this one was the shortest. The elevators are the closest to the exit to the water taxis and the path to PBH. I found it a shorter walk to PBH by just going out the front lobby and going straight across the street. The path from the water taxi is nicer, but longer.

My absolute FAVORITE room at Hard Rock Hotel is............1154!!!
We got it last year and I requested it again for this year,,,,he wrote it down on our confirmation, just hope we get it.
It is a 2 queen bed room , It is right at the end of the hall in nonsmoking, it is a poolview and when you go out the exit door,,,,you go to your right to go to the pool or you go to your left to go to the path to the parks, If there is a better located room, I would be really surprised.
hope that helps

I am booked for a 2 Queen, garden view.....where do u think they'll put me? Like, are the lower floors usually reserved for higher paying customers? I'd like a room lower than higher if I had a choice...do I have that choice and how/when do u make requests?

i had a garden view at the ent rate of $125 and had the ground floor. The only bad thing was I had to get a smoking room (1115)because my sister is a smoker (that was tough) our room was at the end of the hall which is left of the hallway bchamps had. It was pretty convenient to the pool, water taxi, etc. So I guess it doesn't matter what you pay, since I had one of the cheapest rates.

When I booked my room at HRH...I have a pet traveling with me and the lady told me over the phone that the lower 2 floors are rooms for guest with pets....you can still get one of these bottom 2 floors if you do not have a pet...just a little info for you. From what i understand you do not haft to worry about the rooms smelling or being bad from prev. guest with a pet because they really clean these rooms from which I understand on the Lowes website.

Thanks Bchamp I was keeping that one in mind from another thread ( I think you and someone else both had had it) Appreciate you for sharing the info.

Judging by your description (if you're looking at the map) the hotel looks like a backwards "C", room 1154 is at the bottom of the "C". Are there rooms at the other end of the "C"? What would you think of that location?
