I haven't been on this board since our last cruise in Sept. 03. We are booked again for this May and are flying in the night before the cruise (3 night Wonder). Where do you stay for that night....I seem to remember that there was a certain hotel alot of DISERS used for this purpose. I don't want to stay on site, I want to be near the airport. Also, I assume we need to get ourselves back to the airport the day of sailing in order to pick up our transfers to the ship?

We are renting a car from Budget ($30.00) and driving it to the Radisson at the Port. On Saturday morning we are driving the car to the Budget place right near the port and taking their shuttle to the port. The room price we got is like $100.

I know alot of people stay at the Hyatt at the airport but we didn't want to spend $164 for a room for one night. That's what their website quoted us. And we are not paying the $49/person transfers to the ship.

We are also getting in early during the day on the friday before our cruise so that was a nothing determining factor.

We have Starwood Preferred Guest points, so when flying into MCO, we choose the Sheraton Suites at MCO. We can use our points to stay there and it is very nice. They provide free transportation 24hrs/day to and from the airport.

The Radisson at the Port is a great option. We were supposed to stay there prior to our September 25th Magic sailing, but canceled to go inland and ride out Jeanne at the Wilderness Lodge. We stayed at the Radisson last October before our Halloween Magic cruise and it worked out great. The price you can get from their website is usually less than $100, but be sure to read the fine print as their lowest rates can't be canceled without a heavy penalty.

Rent a car (Budget and Hertz are both very close to the hotel). The Radisson has shuttle service to the Port so you can either drop your car off and get back to the hotel (Budget told me they would take me back to the Radisson) OR take the rental car shuttle to the Port.

Have a great time.

We are arriving at 10PM the night before for our 10 day x-mas cruise and are staying at Crowne Plaza ($58.95 tx incl) from Hotwire. We didn't want to drive after landing so late so we chose to stay at MCO.

We rented a full size car from Budget for 51.92 (tx incl) because we want to be at the port by 10:30-11AM

We are staying at the Hyatt at the airport for our Nov 27th. After getting up at 4am the day of our last cruise I said no more! Our cruiseplanner told us not to stay on property because the transfers start at 12noon. At the airport the transfers start at 9:30am! Interesting.. we got a good rate.

We stayed at the Sheraton at the airport. Flew in the night before, got into MCO at 11 pm, to the hotel on their shuttle at midnight, up at 8 am, great breakfast buffet at the hotel (not included in room rate), off to the airport in their shuttle at 9:15, and on the bus on the way to thes ship by 10:15 am.
There are a bunch of "just off site" hotels at the airport, all built around a mini lake.
