It's been a couple of years since we've gone to DLR :sad1:
But happy to say, we are planning a trip for fall break this year. :dance3:

Last trip we stayed at DLH,which was amazing. This year i am trying to be frugal, but still want a great vacation. Can yall give me your opinions, where to stay... I am thinking of possibly finding something with a kitchenette, I would liketo cut some cost on food, then it can be spent elsewhere. HoJo? DL property? Def.a suite. we are a family of 5, 2 teen girls, 9 year old son and us.
We are looking for probably 5 nights.

Thanks!!!!

The 6 of us stayed at the RI Maingate, full kitchen, hot breakfasts, managers special in the evenings, free grocery shopping, it can not be beat for what it offers. We book the penthouse suite but they have others.
Have a great time,

Jack

We stayed at The Homewood Suites(a Hilton property) in May, about a mile from Disneyland, and we loved it!

We had a 2 room suite, with 2 queens, A living room with a sofa bed, and kitchenette.

We paid a rate of about $100.00/night. Included a daily, free hot b-fast.

M-Th, they also offer a free dinner, along beer and wine

There was a charge for parking(12.00), and a small charge for the shuttle that ran every 1/2 hour.

There is a Target right across the street, and several restaurants close by.

Check the reviews on Tripadvisor!

LULU !!! Thanks. This sounds great, how is the pool? I like the idea of having separate rooms, that's so nice with kids.

We always stay at the HoJo because we like to be on the "strip" & within walking distance AND the kids water play area is my son's FAV!!! This year, HoJo didn't have the dates avail that I initially wanted so I did some research to find another hotel that was close AND offered a kids water play area. I stumbled upon the Hilton Anaheim. It sounds really fabulous! Nice resort style pool, separate kids water play area, they even have a food court and a Starbucks inside the hotel.

Prices didn't seem to crazy either....

I thought the pool area was very nice. There is a good sized pool, a wading pool, and a hot tub. There is also a large BBQ for guests to use, and a nice patio area.

We really enjoyed our stay. We booked there based on the Tripadvisor reviews, and because my husband is an Hilton Honors member.

The Target across the street is great...we stocked up on snacks etc. there. There is a Starbucks next door, and some good places to eat w/in walking distance.

The daily b-fast was a huge plus and $$ saver. We never made it to the dinners, but heard from other guests that it was nice.

Good luck, and let me know if I can answer any other questions!

Is the shuttle offered thru the hotel or is it the ART shuttle?

Not part of the ART system. The shuttle was shared with The Marriott which was next door. I believe that the charge for the 4 of us was a total of $12.00 daily (2 adults and a 11 and 7 year old)

Was always on time, and drivers were very nice. It did get a bit crowded a few times, and if there was over flow, another shutlle would show up w/in a few mintues to pick up the rest of the guests.
