What hotel do you think this is?

We are going to NY mid March. There is a hotel in the Times Square theatre district for $259/night. It is rated at 3 1/2 stars. Can you guess which hotel this is? do you think that I can do better than this? Do you think that I have to worry about hotels selling out during mid May so I should book sooner than later?

How would you recommend we see the statue of liberty? What boat do we go on? What's the best price? Should we go to the top and how much is it?

I am not sure how to help with the hotel, but strongly recommend you book your travel to the Statue of Liberty as far ahead on-line as possible! DO NOT wait until you arrive. I'm not sure how this is done, but I know it can be. So browse on line and see what you can find. Good Luck!

My guess is the Marriott Marquis. We stayed there last summer, and I think it was a 3.5 star. Large rooms by NY standards, very touristy area.

Just be careful if you are bidding on a NY hotel. We got burned doing this. We chose a 4 star hotel and wound up at the W on Lexington. The location was great, but the room only had one queen bed (there were 4 of us - DH, me, and our 2 DDs) and it was about the size of a cruise ship cabin. I'd say it was no more than 150 sq. feet at the most.

THe Doubletree Times Square is a great place to stay! The rooms are all suites so you get a bedroom, living room area with sofabed and a bathroom that both rooms can access. I'm sure you could find a good price on that hotel.

You can check BetterBidding or BiddingForTravel to see what other people have gotten and see which one it might be.

According to a thread on better bidding they say it could be the Millenium Broadway.

I'm also guessing it's the Mil Broadway.

I think you can do better than $259. for a hotel in May.

The Affinia hotels are rated well for families. www.affinia.com

Try the Hilton Times Square. They have queen beds and the rooms are a bit larger according to trip advisor.

That is too much $$ for the Millenium Broadway if that is what it is.
Be very very careful if looking for a room with two beds in NYC.
Hotels are not going to sell out.
Check travelzoo NYC lodging specials and keep checking.
If you decide to bid, use betterbidding and biddingfortravel.
If you insist on doing Statue of Liberty, maybe look at the Embassy Suites downtown, sometimes they run good specials.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn 851 8th Avenue, New York, NY‎ - It has queen size beds and is a smaller hotel and it has a free buffet breakfast which was delicioius. Also diagnally accross the street was a dinner that had good reasonally priced meals. The subway is right around the corner. It was a short walk to Rockefeller center. The price of the hotel was a good price also
