What Have You Seen Other Drivers Doing When Driving?

Of course talking on cell phones is a big thing. And drivers "digging for gold" seems to be popular. I've seen drivers eating their little nugget, too. One time I saw a driver driving down the freeway with one hand, the other one cleaning out his ear. Then he ate his earwax. I've seen people eating big sub sandwiches, which is not something they could do with one hand.

Today, though, I was behind a driver that had a hard time staying in his lane. I figured that he was on a cell phone until we got to a red light and I passed him since I was turning. He was driving while holding drumsticks and was drumming on the steering wheel! :rotfl2: Strangest looking thing.

So what's the strangest thing you've seen? Remember, this is the DIS--nothing worse than a PG rating! :teeth:

I've seen people with books or folded up newspapers propped on their steering wheels. And people petting their cats or dogs.

I was driving in moving rush hour traffic once. At a red light I look over and the woman next to me is eating ice cream from a bowl with a spoon! And when the light turned green she just tried to steer with the hand that was holding the bowl! A couple lights later I notice she is STILL holding the bowl and eating her ice cream, she never put it down. I got off that road fast.

To me cell phones is the most horrifying thing that I see. I have never been behind or by a person driving with a cell phone that was not driving like a complete idiot. :sad2:

I have not seen this, but someone has told me they have done it. A friend of ours once bragged that they solved the Rubix cube while driving. I did not think it was possible, but he explained and showed us how he did it. I believed him. :scared1: :earseek: :scared1: :earseek:

I saw someone with a portable DVD player propped up on their dashboard watching movies. Ugh!

My ex boyfriend would drive with his knees. That drove me nuts!!!

The other day I saw a cop chatting away on a cell phone while driving. It's illegal in this state. Disgusting!

On the freeway in NY once I was behind a car swerving and going 80+ mph. I had to pass her to see what she was doing! As I got up next to her I was appalled to watch her steer with both elbows, hold a bowl of cereal in her left hand and feed herself with her right. It was quite the display, however, nothing beats the truck My dh and I saw on the highway on the way to Disney World. This is the DIS, you're right. You can use your imagination. Quite the spectacle, I can assure you. ;) (And, not in a good way, either! )

Many years ago my father came home from work and said while driving on the Long Island Expressway he saw another driver eating an entire chicken, just gnawing away at the thing while cruising along on a major highway. :confused3

yeah, but was the chicken *cooked* ;) ?

agnes!

And there is reason #7634 why I avoid the LIE.

When I lived in Vegas I was driving to work one morning on the freeway and I noticed in the car next to me a lady shaving her legs. It was very slow moving traffic, but still, come on! :rolleyes2

I saw a guy eating from a bowl with chopsticks!!

Sitting on the Los Angeles freeways, I would see all the usual stuff - applying make-up, shaving, reading a newspaper. But the chopstick guy was not stuck in traffic - he was at a red light waiting to turn onto the freeway!

It's illegal here in CT too...however "emergency personal" are excluded (ie - police officers/ambulance drivers/etc...)

Watching a guy shave is always funny
Or READING a NOVEL...just gets me.
Driving with headphones on.
Driving with your left foot hanging out the window (maybe I'm just not limber enough to acheive this?)

Even if it's a personal call? He was definitely on a personal call.

Well, there goes my story! :rolleyes1

Actually I saw Britney Spears driving with her baby in her lap!!! Well, I mean I saw pics. Same difference.

What? This is old news?

Man, I hate being the last to know!!!!! :goodvibes

I have a 4x4 truck and I saw a guy in a lowered little rice rocket car having a little one person party at a stoplight. Yea, had to pull away quickly from that one!

I shaved my legs while driving once.

I used to have a boss who would read the newspaper while driving. Yikes!

When my DD was very young I remember seeing a mother breast feeding her baby while driving a mini van. Now we were in a parking lot for a outelt mall (rather big place) and more then likely she was just moving the van from one parking spot to closer one on the side of the parking lot, but STILL! I was flapergasted. (how do you spell that?) :confused3

I remember it well because I had just spent 15 min sitting in the back set of my car bf my baby and then buckling her in before moving my car to another parking spot in the maga big outlet mall parking lot. Besides the clear danger of it (the car more then likely had airbags, it was 2001 and a newer car.) can you imgaine the skill of that mother to do both things at once? Talk about multi tasking. Still it takes 5 to 10 min, sit down with the baby and give her all your attention (and safelty). It isn't like she had to pull of the highway to feed her (something I have done before too.)

The oddest thing I have seen recently was the driver with his left bare foot sticking out the window! :scared1:

And in Mexico I saw a dog riding on the roof of a car! They had a piece of carpet glued down for him - but no restrains. And this was on a fast road. Even our cab driver thought it was wierd.

I have seen most everything you can think of - reading, eating, puting on makeup, using a labtop, holding a dog; and one other thing I won't say on the Dis.
