Any stories out there on things you have forgotten or not thought of bringing, but wish you had?
How about stuff you brought but didn't use?

My last trip I wish I had been my usual pack-rat self and packed the benadryl. My DH begged me to pack real light since it was only for 4 days and the kids were not coming. I was so sick and really needed to sleep but could not and DH had to buya bottle of the liquid at almost $10. Never again will he question my traveling pharmacy.:teeth:

I seem to do fine with less every trip. I did forget socks one time  , and had to run to Walmart...
As for bringing things I don't need- it is always the snacks. Who wants a granola bar when they can have ice cream?

I forgot to carry some money. I'm Diabetic. Dh had all the cash and he and Dd were on a ride while I sat out. I had a diabetic low and no money to buy any food!! If I catch it early I can stop the low from getting really low. But with Dh having the money,I was stuck.

I learned to carry my own money!!

I always carry BlisterBlock with me now duirng a park day. I learned the hard way, LOL. We also packs 2 hats apiece if we're going in the summer, just in case one gets lost or misplaced.

I usually bring too many clothes. I could pack lighter.

Well, once I forgot our park passes and all our Disney info... kinda stupid, but it happens!

I'm sure many of you can relate, however, that as a mom, the stuff that most often gets "forgotten" are things for me -- I somehow manage to pack everything ever needed for the 3 kids and dh, yet then forget my own underwear. Go figure.

For this trip, I am going to intentionally "forget" lots of stuff (but NOT my passes or clothes, hopefully!) We used to pack all sorts of dry goods and snacks -- had a whole van-full! And then I did some scouting and realized the Florida Wal-Mart prices were the same as our WV ones. I'd rather have the car space for my LEGS for 15 hrs than share it crammed-up with dry goods, thanks!

chapstick - I honestly feel lost without it. I forgot it on a recent trip to Vegas - that's ok though, because it gave me an excuse to go to Sephoras for some more (don't have one here and had to stock up).
I also forgot a long sleeved shirt once - I didn't know the nights can get that cool. It just gave me an excuse to buy a Disney one anyways.
My ex forgot his runners once - after one day in the park, he learned.
Camara ran out of battery juice 1/2 way through our trip in WDW in 1999. Were staying right on property and had no car. To buy another was $20. Will never forget a back-up ever again.
That's it though. I am now a thorough planner and a crazy one at that.

One time our digital camera battery died during a character meal, so we had to buy a batter in the lobby of the resort (ouch!), and I think we had to buy a disposable camera once. It is better to bring too much of this stuff, believe me!

It is not something that I forgot really but something that I will never go without again is a cheap dollar store laundry basket. I got so tired of carrying those bags down to the laundry room. I walked into the laundry room and a woman had a basket and you could have knocked me over with a feather. I never thought of it. But we drive so we have the space for one and we can carry stuff (like the water or stuffed animals that the kids have to bring) to our room from the truck so it has several purposes.::yes::

Extra sunglasses in the park..... I brought 2 pairs per person, but we only carried one pair each on us to the parks. Sure enough DD loses hers early in the day.... extra ones are back at the hotel! So I buy her a new pair in the RNR giftshop to the tune of $20!!!! And she loses those in about 2 hours. She had to squint the rest of the day!! Since we had a bag in a locker that day it would have been easy enough to have the extra sunglasses in there!........................P

On our honeymoon trip, I carried two adult size ponchos from a sporting goods store. I didn't know about these boards and also didn't know about the emergency ponchos from Wal-Marts that cost $.87 instead of the $7 huge ponchos.
I always pack too many clothes and end up with nothing to wear :teeth:

What is BlisterBlock? I always get horrible blisters and I am intrigued!

Bumping for info on the blisterblock!!! Sounds like that could be a lifesaver!!!

I'm not the OP, but I can tell you that Blisterblock is an item sort of like a bandaid (sticks on your skin), but it stays on better and has sort of a non-sticky area to cover the blister . Johnson & Johnson makes them and they are in the foot care area of the Health and Beauty dept. Some people think it works better than moleskin. I have brought them along, but (knock on wood) we have never had a blister problem at WDW!...............P

More Laundry Tabs..brought 2 ...wished I had brought another 2 or 3 and dryer sheets. That stuff is way over priced from the vending machines....let alone the fact that you can not dry all your items on one cycle:( But I hate to bring lots of clothes.

I've just discovered a "collapsable" laundry hamper/basket. My mom got them at Menard's for under $1 after rebate...they stand about 3 feet tall and hold about 1 load of laundry, but then you can fold it up to about a 6 inch flat disk when not in use. It's made of mesh. So cool! I'm sure you can find them at other stores, too.::yes::

What a good idea!!

I've got to look for something like that. If I can't find one here, I guess I'll just take a plastic laundry basket and fill it with my dry goods I'm packing.

BTW, they had cheap dryer sheets at Big Lots today. I think 39 cents for 20 in a box. They also had detergent in what I think would be a good travel size bottle for $1 (All Stainlifter 20 oz. liquid). I'm putting things in a box as I go, so I don't forget anything. These posts really help me with my list!:D

A Fly Swatter. We inevitably find some creepy crawly in our room and always end up using a good magazine to kill it. Next time we are bringing a Fly Swatter.
