The days are ticking away... I have been planning for over a year-
What have you forgotten to pack- other than the children- that you wish you had remembered?
All input is readily accepted!!!!! :confused3

Some things I've forgotten:

Small first aid kit and Neosporin - in case you cut yourself on coral or other nasty stuff. (we learned this the hard way when my daughter got a nasty infection from a coral scratch. She's still on the antibiotics and this happened almost 2 weeks ago.)

Travel iron
Laundry soap and dollar bills or change
Tweezers
Hair spray - can't buy it in the store onboard
Extra batteries for your camera
Girlie things - you NEVER know!
And something to avoid bringing home a baby as a souvenier.....

If you have young ones:

Enough diapers/pull ups
Extra bottles
Their special teddy or baby

We've forgotten socks and combs in the past.

But basically, most people overpack for a cruise.

Our first cruise we forgot beach toys, and boy did we get hammered with the pricey ones on CC. We did buy them though, and left them there also ( boy that really hurt). We learned for the future and have Shirley make up one of her gorgeous baskets with sand toys in them, and then we do not feel so bad.

Enjoy your cruise.... :sunny: :sunny: :cool1:

I'm notorious for forgetting the toothbrush! Use it in the morning and forget to stick it in the bag (put it back in the holder :guilty: ..might want a spare tucked in just in case :) )

Meds / First aid items (bandaids, etc)

Ouch on the coral infection. I understand there is a product Safe Sea that is suppose to help with that to? One of the guys at work who was a navy diver said not to rent the scooters on some islands because if you end up in an accident (road rash) they use crushed coral in the cement mix. That was enough for me to think taxis....

Chapstick. Blistex. Some kind of lip balm, preferably with some spf protection. For those painfully pasty northerners like us, Disney is no fun with sunburned lips.

not that i forgot - i didnt think i would need sunscreen - i have olive skin and rarely do i burn - well guess what - i burned - had to call room service for vinegar - and they asked - did someone burn? they are used to this happening im sure - but next time - i will pack sunscreen!! :smooth:

I have mostly overpacked rather than forgotten something...each cruise I bring less and less. I keep finding things I don't even use and then dont bring them again! First cruise I brought one bathing suit...after that I learned and packed 3 each!
Don't bother with a travel iron since you can't use it in the room anyway, they are prohibited, you can use them in the lauundry room but why bother....Treat yourself and just send them out to be pressed, its a small price to pay!

If you're going to send postcards to family and friends, don't forget to pre-print their names/addresses on some adhesive labels before you leave home.

Filling out addresses on 10 postcards takes FOREVER and wastes valuable island time!

Also, ditto on the sand toys. We packed our own, and boy were we glad we did! They were very expensive on the island. Also, DS ended up with about 5 new friends because of his sand toys!

And something to avoid bringing home a baby as a souvenier.....

Excellent idea, ChrisnSteph! :rotfl:

We travel a lot so I always have a bathroom bag packed. I forgot to check if all items were full and I was almost out of me deodorant--I barely had enough for one day. I had to buy some on board and it was really the sample size so I bought two of them--expensive item to forget. Make sure all supplies you need are packed because it is expensive to replace them on the ship and that is if they even have them on the ship. One cruise my husband forgot his dress belt . Kathy

Don't forget an extra pair of glasses (even old ones) if you wear them. DH had a bit of difficulty living with only his very dark sunglasses after he lost his regular glasses! He also couldn't read anything (including menus), since his sunglasses weren't bifocals.

You CAN forget your cruise tickets - you'll still get to go - you just have to fill out all of the forms (again! - you do fill out the forms as much as possible BEFORE leaving for your cruise don't you :teeth: )

You can NOT forget your proof of citizenship and photo ID for adults (Passport or the D/L - BC combo). Without these its very likely that you won't be cruising. Actually, :earseek: everything :earseek: else is optional, well except for some way to pay for your onboard charges!!

I always travel with Downey Wrinkle Releaser- it's the best.... I hate to iron on vacation!!!! :cool1:

Just a helpful suggestion -- I bought an inexpensive over the door shoe holder and it proved to be invaluable. We hung it on the outside of one of the bathroom doors and not only used it for beach shoes and sandals (dress shoes went in the closet), but also for brushes, combs, hair items, etc. And it really didn't get in the way at all.

Don't forget suntan/sunscreen lotions! They cost a fortune on the ship and sometimes in the local towns.

Your "go with the flow" attitude! That way even if something doesn't go as planned you will still have the time of your life.
