My wonderful wife (and I love her dearly) has gone and done it again. Last night as I was returning from a call out at work, she informs me that she is really wanting to see Disney at Christmas time. She had found good airline prices for the first weekend in December and had pretty much talked herself into doing this trip. By the time I had been home for 30 minutes she had herself convinced that this trip was doable and booked the flights and the 2 night stay at BC. My only request was not to tell our son so that he will be totally surprised by what sill be his 6th visit to the World since 2004. I'll say it again, I love her dearly!! :goodvibes

I am completely jealous! I would love to see Disney at Christmas time, but, as a teacher I cannot take the time off from work to get down there...and, my DH works in retail and that is his busy season.

Enjoy the beauty of the Kingdom at Christmas...I hope she keeps the secret from your son!

So apparently your wife is my long lost twin...:rotfl:

I did the same thing to (I like to think of it as FOR ;) ) my husband December 2007. We had a great time. Christmas time there is fantastic. It was our 4th trip since 2005.

Then we went again in May...'cause we had never been to a Pirate and Princess party and May is really a good month to go...and I found good flights and a room discount.

...and we're leaving on Tuesday for a short trip. 'cause we haven't been for Halloween since 2006 and we love the Halloween Party and have never been to the Food and Wine festival and I got a free dining pin code.

And my son is only 5!!!!!

Tell her to send me a PM if she needs to come up with a reason for your next trip. I've got lots of them!

Smart woman.

Where is SE Texas are you? Did you have trouble with Ike?

I'm in McAllen.

Yes she is a smart woman. One of the many reasons I married her.

We are near Beaumont. We didn't receive any damage from Ike, just had no power for a week. We were lucky though.

my DH would kick me in the butt if I did something like that......Your a good man!!!

ooohhh I love disney at christmas time!!! its the best!
you guys sound like us.......my hubby just smiles when i do something like this. LOL

Awww that's too cute, and I mean both of you; her for talking you both into it, and you for going with it. I wish my husband and I had that kind of relationship. I hope you guys have a wonderful time!!!!

Congrats on the semi-surprise trip. I think everyone here wishes we had a spouse like yours!!!

Thanks. (Dbenlee's DW here) And my DH is loving every minute of this. It is a short weekend. Fly out early Friday morning and returning Sunday. The big thing I had to come to terms with was pulling our DS out of school for the one day. I had everything scheduled within a few hours including MVMCP tickets and ADRs.

We were originally going Thanksgiving week but because Osborne lights may be not up yet and we also decided to book a 7 day Western DCL for next summer we ended up cancelling the trip.

But we really wanted to see the Christmas lights and decorations, so I came up with this weekend ideal.:dance3:

Everything she says is so true. I am looking very forward to the weekend and seeing the Christmas decorations.

I am with you on the Osborne lights. We are going the week of Thanksgiving and so Bummed that they are not turning the lights on until the 28th. We will be at DHS on thanksgiving and I keep secretly hoping they will just turn them on, but that is only a dream.

I WISH this would be the ticket to make DH think that I dearly love him......instead he just rolls his eyes and says, "Disney, AGAIN?"

ARGH!!!

LOL, it used to be my wife who rolled her eyes when our son and I would say we wanted to go to Disney again. We successfully converted her though, now we all three dream bout our next Disney trip!

What a wonderful idea. We live in California though so if I am paying for air fare to Florida I am staying for a whole week!

My friend didn't tell her children at all. Woke them up at 5:00am and said, "Let's got to Disney World!" They video taped the wake up scene with both children. Mom had a wonderful time planning the surprise and the children had no time to get too excited. They had a great trip! Enjoy yours! We're going Dec 5 - 11.

Oh, I could stay at the Grand Californian for a week!!!!

I miss living so close to a Disney park. In SoCal, when I had a bad week, I would just gather the kids up and say, "We are heading to Disneyland for the day!" DH didn't even have to be involved :thumbsup2 and we didn't have to pay for lodging or food if we didn't want to.

I also miss SoCal, but that is an entirely different thread all together.

Born and raised in So. Cal so i have been to Disneyland many times. Although I love it, it is not quite the same as staying there for a week.

We are excited about trying to surprise our son with the trip. We are driving up to Houston the night before because we have the first flight out, so he may figure it out then. We plan on packing in secret and having it loaded up in the car and telling him to climb in. I think he will be shocked. :woohoo:
