For those of you who have been to 1900 park fare dinner, what happens when the restaurant opens? Is there a show or something. I have booked this at opening time because I heard that there is a show. :yay:

The restaurant opens for dinner at 4:30, but I'm not sure what exactly happens.

I'm not sure if this is the norm or not, but when we were there for dinner in Feb. '05 the Fairy Godmother came out into the entrance/lobby area and interacted with the crowd. She had everyone chant together (I think it was Bibbity, Bobbety Boo), threw a little bit of confetti and then the doors opened. Nothing spectacular, but a little more special than just waiting for a ressie.
:goodvibes

Last year we had a 4:30 ADR. They picked my DD(then 9) to 'open' the magical dinning room. they had everyone count down from 5 and they had her say 'bibbidi bobbidi boo' and when she opened the doors, the fairy god mother was there to great her and bring her to her table, the two mice were waiting by our table for her too. It was a really nice touch...

btw...we weren't first, DD was not the oldest or youngest(I have a 7yo) so I am not sure how she got picked other then she is really lucky :teeth:

We had the same thing happen to us on Aug. 12 except it was Cinderella who came out and took our 3 year old in hand to our table. At that time, they had a big pink bow on the front door and our 3 yr old had to pull the bow. We were the first to arrive and it was our daughters birthday and we had ordered a cake but I really don't know how participants are chosen. It was just so exciting for us. I didn't know about the "show" to OPEN the restaurant so it was a good surprise!! I had made our reservation for 4:30 based on knowing our three kids would be too hungry and too tired later in the evening. The character interaction was great.

We were there in Nov and the same show as above. Fairy Godmother came out for pics and autographs. We were not to have dinner until 4;45 but heard that there was something going on. I'm so glad we did as we had left our house that morning at 2am flying from Buffalo and decided to make 1900 park fare our 1st disney destination. It was very special for my DD's myself, DH and DD's godmother was there too. The Mice were wonderful with my very shy and tired girls!!

pixiedust: We've had ADRs at PF several times at 4:30 and each time it was a little different...some more "magical" than others, but the kids are excited. It typically is a 5 minute opening celebration with a few characters and pixie dust. The little ones get a kick out of it.
