What happens to OTUP?

Hi there! I need one more night to piece together a stay at the VGC next summer. If I buy the max # of OTUP, I can snag a one bedroom for that last night, which would be sort of an insurance policy in case my waitlist doesn't come through for a studio. What happens if the waitlist comes through and I'm able to downgrade to a studio? Where will the OTUP go? Will they appear in my dashboard, and then I can use them for a night or two in the fall, or do I have to call MS to modify or use them for a different reservation?

if you need to cancel a reservation that uses OTUP then you have until the end of your UY to use them. If you cancel less than 31 days out then they will also go into holding, but you still need to use them before end of your UY.

If you want you can also modify a current reservations and apply the points to that reservation.

And the OTUPs taken out of your reservation will be listed in your online account and identified by the DVC resort from which they came, which could be something different from VGC or a resort you own.

To add, the OTU points won’t show up until you go to book again with them if you have to cancel.
