What happens to my points?

I have a trip booked in May, 2009. Next week at the 11 month mark, I am planning on borrowing points from my next use year to book another reservation in November, 2009 next year.

There is a possibily that we will have to cut our May trip short. What happens to my points? Since I already borrowed the points from the next use year, I can't put those back right? So what happens to the points that I have from my current use year that I was no longer using? Will I at least be able to bank them, or will I need to use them by the end of the year?

If the May 09 ressie is using current UY points as long as you cancel 30 days before arrival they go back into the current UY and as long as you have not passed your banking window you can bank them When is your UY?

Clarification needed here. Did you use Dec. '08 points for the May booking? You said you used 'borrowed points', so that would indicate that you used Dec. '09 points to book the May ressie. If you did use '09 points, those points must be reused before November 30 of '09 if you cancel more than 30 days before that reservation starts. If you used Dec. '08 points, you will indeed be able to bank them before July 31.

Yes perfect sense, that means May is in the current UY.
