What Happens to a Car Left Overnight in a Park Lot?

The title says it all, what happens if, for any reason, a guest leaves a car in a parking lot of one of the parks? I'm not planning on doing this, deliberately or by accident, although in years past I dreamed up scenarios in which it would be convienient for us to do this, retrieving said car the next day, I'm just curious as to what Disney's actions would be. Again, I don't need this info, I'm just curious, so feel free to blow this question off.

I'm sure after a long night at Rose & Crown the option looks pretty darn good! :thumbsup2

I am interested in this as well. Does Mickey go for a joy ride?

I've read that they will tag it, and leave it. However, if it is still there a second night, they tow it.

Let's say you left the car in the lot because bus and/or tram service at that park stopped for the night or you did not have a designated driver. Just go back the next day to get it, no special treatment is needed.

I would not do this.

I had a friend who did leave a car. She went to Guest Services. Told them she had "one too many" and was leaving her car. They got the info on the car and relayed it to security. Next day there was a note on the car indicating "guest notified us of left car, will pick up mm/dd/yy".

I think telling them would be the way to go

From what i've heard, It's basically you have a 1 day "grace period" under normal circumstances. IE.... You leave the car in the lot one night, Security notes the vehicle info and location..... and if it's still there the next night, they may tow it.

However, It never hurts to let them know it's being left if you want to be on the safe side. Example from above might be a case of a local who comes on Saturday to F&W and ends up in no condition to drive home. they have to work Sunday, so they may not be able to get the car until monday.... so they can inform guest services of the Situation and Disney can try and accomodate them.

Disney's primary goal to is avoid suspicous or abandoned vehicles taking up the parking lot. With 3 out of 4 parks serving alchohol, It's a perfectly reasonable and almost expected that the odd vehicle will be left overnight due to guests not feeling comfortable driving home or back to their resort and making other arrangements (Onsite guests taking Disney Transportation back to their hotel, Others getting rides or taking a cab, etc). Under those circumstances, most people are going to try and retrieve their vehicle ASAP, so it makes no sense for Disney to inconvenience their guests or incur the costs of having the vehicle towed after 1 night. After being in the same spot in a park parking lot for 2 nights however, You start to get outside of the "he was too drunk to drive safely" window and into the suspicious or abandoned explanation for the car still being there. If there is a legitimate reason however for being there 2 nights in a row however and you let them know about it, then they at least know the vehicle isn't a danger or abandoned and can act accordingly.

(I put way too much thought into this... :rotfl: )
