So we met with a DVC guide last week at WDW. We did not have all of the downpayment then so we set it up for automatic draft on the 30th from our checking account, he wanted to make sure we got the contract before July 1st due to the points going up, so does that mean we have to have it closed by then because we have not gotten anything in the mail yet? I am just wondering what is the process after the initial meeting and the proposed contract was signed in their office. Sorry I am excited and antsy plus we have a trip in Sept. that we would like to use our DVC for and I know we need to get something booked.

I would ask your guide to include you sept trip as part of your contract... you are very close to that trip and you may have some availablity issues...

You should be fine in terms of closing as long as you have signed all you paperwork!

Welcome Home!!

Thanks, he is aware of our trip and is going to book it the second he can. He already called around and felt out avaliability for us. While we can't get exactly what we want we are happy to take whatever for this trip since this was kind of a last minute buy in. How long does it take for them to mail you closing papers? It's been one week since we got home and I am getting antsy LOL. I guess I could call my guide but I don't want to pester him.

I got my paperwork fed-exed to me just about a week after we signed up. But we did it at a retail location (woodfield mall) and not in the parks so your case might be different.

We got it within a week as well and we did it over the phone, but also at the Woodfield Mall retail location. We mailed it back within 24 hours, but someone from Disney (not our guide) did call to make sure we got it and see if we had any questions.

Keep in mind you will need to get some things notorized, so don't just sign everything in sight :hyper:. Take some tie to read the documents, make sure your info is accurate, the term and rates are accurate, and try to read as much as you can.

Your price is locked in, and guides seem to be able to get rooms reserved pretty well. Find a notary near you, which is convenient for all parties that need to sign. We use a Postal Annex (Mailbox Etc, UPS store, whatever), since they usually have a notary and are able to ship the docs right then.

Good luck, and welcome!
