What happens if youare over the age recommended?

We are on our first trip to WDW and my DD12 and I are wanting to try out ALL the rides and in the guides we see alot with age recommendations. How much of a guide is the guide?!!? Will we feel out of place on rides with no tiny child....my DD12 is 5'5" so its not like we are small stature people. We were really wondering about Alladins Flying carpets and its a Small World. Peter Pans magic ride and the biggie is.....will they do a height restriction if you have no little toddler? (that would be really embarrassing for my DD). Any advice appreciated. Also water shoes in the water parks??? yea or nay? We realize that these rides will not be exciting for us but we just want to experience them only a few months til we go!!!

The rides you mention are geared for kids of all ages (that includes moms and even adults with no kids at all). Don't worry about it. Which is not to say a 12-year-old might not find Alladin's Carpets a lot less exciting than they imagined - just that they won't feel out of place. The main thing you will find that is "small kids only" are some of the playgronds and kids pools.

Water shoes in water parks? Always a good idea.

WDW and the rides are for the child in all of us, so go on anything that you want to. You won't feel out of place, even with no small children. Generally, the ages given in guide books are information for people who are trying to decide whether to take their children on various rides. Have fun and enjoy it all!

They wont do a height restriction if you are clearly tall enough to ride. If you're saying that you think you're too old for those rides, then you're definitely not! Many adults ride those rides. It's Disney, everyone can be a kid I wouldn't miss out on any of them!

Some of our most favorite rides are the "kid" ones. I'm 42, DD is 15, and the other D is almost 12. We love the rides and never worry about what someone might think.

Nope. The age thing is a guide for parents. If you meet the height requirement, then you can ride, regardless of age. There are a few playgrounds that are only for little ones, but you wouldn't want to go in those anyway! You should not miss Fantasyland rides, no matter your age. They are classic and so fun. The only one we care to miss is the teacups, as I have bad motion sickness, it's always a long line, and not anything spectacular. Everything else just has to be done!

I skip Dumbo unless I am with a kid. The lines are just HORRID! LOL!

Otherwise as an adult I ride everything. (The Barnstormer in Toon Town is tough though... Those cars are LITTLE!!!)

Not a problem! DH and I are 51 and 49, and don't have kids...we go on all the kiddie rides (except the carousel in MK, I don't think I could get DH on it! ) and it's no problem! You are never too old for any of the rides at Disney. In fact, when we rode the Triceratop Spin at AK (very similar to Aladin and Dumbo), the cast member in charge of the line seemed to get a big kick out of us riding it twice in a row, and he waved to us.
